Works great, hard to remove

Purchased this to line the door to my bedroom in a shared apartment where my roommate stayed up late talking and smoking weed. This worked to seal out both noise + smell, amazingly. Only downside is it was impossible to remove cleanly while moving out. Tons of foam residue left on the door but with 3 hours worth of elbow grease with a sharp scraper and lots of orange oil, I managed to remove it all.

Pros
  • As they say, you get what you pay for.
Cons
  • Seemed like it would work on our door, but the adhesive didn't stick well, already coming off.

Adheres fine--foam does not stay on well

Got this as an insulator for our sliding glass door. I was so happy at first because it was easy to install, and it stuck on great. The foam, however, was so flimsy that my nails merely ripped it. It didn't even last one day on our door. But I didn't even tell you the best part. The adhesion is SO great, it will take you a full workout just trying to get the sticky stuff off the glass or other surface you stick it on. Usually, witch hazel does the trick, but it seems like the goo was…

Pros
  • Working good
Cons
  • Not worth the price paid

Does not stick: my feedback

I gave it a 2, for the quality of the item. Would be perfect IF it had adhesive. However, I cannot remove the tape cover, to reveal the adhesive. It’s like the cover is fully glued onto the insulation.Because this product NEEDS to stick to whatever it’s being used for- and doesn’t - that’s why I give it 1 star.

Pros
  • Very Flexible and easy to use.
Cons
  • the paper will not separate from the foam and glueworthless garbage

This was the perfect solution to my problem 🙏

This was the perfect solution to a really bad DRAFT problem that i was having in my house with keeping the cold out in the winter and the heat out in the summer. In which i tried a few solution that didnt work for this what seemed to be a minor issue / BIG PROBLEM.Iv installed it in the middle of this past winter and it has worked to keep out the cold air ever since and the heat in the summer as well.

Pros
  • High-quality foam insulation that provides excellent durability
Cons
  • It may not be wide enough to cover large gaps

Gap filler for my opinion

Used this on my truck topper on my 03 tundra for the section between the rails that creates a larger gap. Filled in the space nicely and my only criticisms are there is no instructions no mention of needing to clean the surface good and with alcohol which wasn't an issue for me but someone who might not know better. Lastly the adhesive could be better I assume I'll probably have to replace it every time I remove the cap from the truck.

Pros
  • Works well with both cooling and air conditioning systems
Cons
  • It may not be effective in blocking out all types of odors

Great weather stripping for doors and windows

I moved last winter and found out that my doors and windows were letting out a ton of heat due to their age. This was easy to apply and did the trick! Now the heat stays in and the cold stays out-hopefully vice versa for the summer. Quick fix and value!

Pros
  • Easy to install for homeowners with no special skills required
Cons
  • It may be difficult to clean once installed

Sorry to say it didn't stay stuck on.

Tried this in gaps around and in wall air conditioner. It just would stay stuck on. Moving on to Foam insulation. It may not stay in place if the door or window is frequently opened and closed!

Pros
  • High Density Foam Tape—Weather proof, oil resistance, resistant to corrosion, dust proof, shock-absorbing, buffering, sealing, flame retardant, shock-absorbing, sound and heat insulation, anti-skidding and insulating.
Cons
  • It may not stay in place if the door or window is frequently opened and closed

Overall Good Door Seal

Installed this on one of our interior doors. The seal Insulation table was a little thick for what I needed so I had to trim the thickness down.Overall it did as I expected, the door no longer rattles when someone opens another door. It also helped with sounds coming into the office from the door. I do however wish the Adhesive was a little better, The foam has moved a little since install and starting to stick on people if they brush on the door frame.

Pros
  • Reduce energy bills by preventing drafts and air leaks
Cons
  • It may cause air leaks around the edges of the tape

Do not buy this - my new review

Please buy any other brand of this product. Falling apart after just a week of use and has ruined my door frame. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Foam Weather Seal—One sided foam insulation tape is designed for both industrial and commercial use. Strong adhesive backing, waterproof and non-degumming, stick firmly, great weather stripping for doors and windows.
Cons
  • It may require frequent replacement due to wear and tear

Too thick for my door

Probably should have returned but kept for future use on something else. It was way too thick for my door. Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Self-adhesive tape for easy application and removal
Cons
  • It may not be appropriate for use on doors or windows that are frequently opened and closed by children or pets

Deceptive: Not one 1/2” piece - two 1/4” foam pieces

I was looking for a one 1/2” piece of self-adhesive foam and saw this. Nothing in the description says it’s two 1/4” foam pieces - side-by-side, which is deceiving. I could have bought one 1/4” foam and just doubled it (would have been cheaper). The foam itself is fine and sticky, but this wasn’t what I was looking for.

Pros
  • work great
Cons
  • Was really disappointed with this product, it wouldn’t peel off, so it was useless.

Does not stick. on my review.

I have tried and tried and tried to put this product under my doors but after a couple times of opening the door, the product comes off. Useless.

Pros
  • Can be trimmed to fit any size gap or space
Cons
  • It may not work as well on older doors or windows

Great adhesion. for my opinion

Used to seal opening between sliding patio doors because of doggie door. Dog didn’t use door so it’s been removed. They work, but you are likely to mess up your first install, and it''d be nice to have a secondary..

Pros
  • I used this insulation tape for my door and window air conditioner
Cons
  • They work, but you are likely to mess up your first install, and it'd be nice to have a secondary.

Difficult to remove the self adhesive cover strip

I would give the product a higher rating if it was not so difficult to remove the cover on the adhesive strip. They need to add some sort of pull so that you can easily remove it. Other than that, it went on easily, seems to be sticking well, and is doing what I need it to do,

Pros
  • Lasts for years when installed correctly
Cons
  • It may not be effective on doors or windows with unusual shapes or sizes

Awful. Backing rips off the foam, cannot expose adhesive side

Adhesive backing completely melted/stuck in product. Rips 1/4 inch off the product when you try to remove the backing to expose the adhesive. I’ve already cut multiple strips off. So frustrated.

Pros
  • Provides a comfortable indoor living environment
Cons
  • It may be more expensive than other methods of blocking out drafts or noise

It’s Okay But… for my opinion

I noticed it breaks apart fairly easily if you mess with it too much. It gets the job done for the most part. It may not adhere well to painted surfaces!

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • It may not adhere well to painted surfaces

After installing my windows AC units, there is always a gap between the bottom of the unit and the window sill. I cut a piece of this foam to the length that is needed, I do not remove the adhesive backing, I just slide the piece into the gap and it fits perfectly!

Pros
  • Protects your home from the harsh environmental elements
Cons
  • It may not be effective in hot or humid environments

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Is not self-adhesive

The product lacked any adhesive and and simply tore off with the tape where the adhesive should have been. Perhaps the product storage environment caused the adhesive to fail, but pulling up the tape also pulled apart the insulation rendering this product useless.

Pros
  • Building Supplies
Cons
  • It may not have enough thickness to block out very loud noises

for beer fridge gasket

the old gasket was shot, alcohol cleaned the surface, installed this gasket bending around the corners ""on the door"" carefully, sprayed on the metal where the seal hits ""when shutting the door"" with ----liquid wrench part # L512----dry lube (quick drying) no oily residual----very carefully closed fridge door, put 2 ratchet straps on around 1 towards the top 1 towards the bottom, firmly snugged them till the door totally latched,,,, left them on for a week, then slowly opened the door…

Pros
  • Doesn’t stick great to outside surfaces, even after cleaned.
Cons
  • It may not be effective in blocking out all types of noise

GARBAGE Tape does NOT cpme off without ripping the foam

AVOID unless you want to be dissappointed. The tape does NOT come off the foam without ripping the foam. Worst weatherstripping I have ever come across. I'm sorry I bought it.

Pros
  • Perfect for door and window drafts. Sticks good.
Cons
  • Adhesive was hard to peel and doesn’t stick for long
