Satellite bandwidth is poor

My house is 2500 square feet so this router/satellite combo (RBR20/RBW30) seemed like the right solution for me. But it didn't work for me. I was not able to get good bandwidth for satellite connected devices. The best I could get for satellite connected devices was 1 or 2 bars (out of 4). I tried installing satellite in every room in my house but it didn't work. The good news is this. When I turned off the satellite I got a full 4 bars for all my devices throughout the house as they connected…

Great product, poor documentation

Orbi gave me a great Wi-Fi signal even though I had poor reception previously. In other words, he did exactly what I wanted. Installation would have been easy if Netgear's instructions were better - I had to fiddle around a bit to get it working. They should also tell you that installing Orbi with a FiOS router requires a slightly different process. I stumbled across this fact and Verizon's instructions by accident. Eventually I was told that the Orbi needs to be configured as an access point…

Finally, Reliable and Convenient Home Wi-Fi

This Orbi Wi-Fi System is Awesome! We finally have reliable WiFi in every part of the house and never have to switch between networks. Plus, it was incredibly easy for us to set up the Orbi system—essentially plug-and-play. We have a long house, everything is on one level, and it has never been possible to get reliable end-to-end WiFi. For logistical reasons, our modem and router are at one end of the house and all of our entertainment devices (smart TV, Blu-ray player, DVR, etc.) are at the…

*** Be careful if you have a house less than 3000 m². Foot! ***

I bought this to replace an old Netgear DD-WRT router that has failed. My house is 2500 square meters. ft. is over 100 years old, the walls are very thick and I had trouble getting a good wi-fi signal upstairs, farthest from the router. I figured a wi-fi network system would be a good option. Judging by the reviews, Netgear Orbi offers the best value for money. The Orbi main unit definitely looks more attractive on the bookshelf than the old Netgear box. To set up the system, I used the Orbi…

A special setup is required to connect to Samsung phones.

UPDATE: Found an issue on another site. Apparently, newer Samsung phones have a Wi-Fi security app installed that blocks Orbi from installing. I had to turn off the Wi-Fi protection to connect, which is fine at home, but then I have to remember to turn it back on every day before leaving the house. How painful. It looks like Orbi is working now, but Orbi should have known about it and not wasted three or four hours trying to fix it. It should also work with whatever security settings Samsung or

Pros

I just purchased this item so this review is about updating my Apple Time Capsule router and network based on Apple Express router, Orbi network setup and initial network performance. First, I bought the mesh network because there are two bedrooms that are furthest away from my Apple Time Capsule router where the 5GHz signal was 20-30% max. Thus, the router's theoretical bandwidth (TBW) of 1300 Mbit/s (ac) could not be used. However, the router provides a second signal (2.5 GHz), but the max…
