🔧 Helicoil 5521-7 Thread Repair Kit: Restoring Coarse 7/16-14 Inch Threads with Precision Review

This is not a 7/16-14 fine thread size. My existing 7/16-14 cap screw for attaching the thermostat housing to the intake manifold on a Chevy V-8 is 7/16-14. And hits right in the spiral coil. Doesn't grab or hold. Attention buyers. I stripped the threads on the original factory tapped hole so it's my fault, but now with this helical insert that isn't a 7/16-14 thread I have to replace the manifold for 200+. plus my time

It's very important that the hole and threads are straight, so I used a head with several screws as a guide for the drill that goes into the head. I bought this helicoil insert kit to repair some aluminum bolt holes I cut in the gear case. In general the kit works great, no complaints. This kit proved to be much stronger than I thought it would be and allowed me to tighten the bolt to spec with no issues. I would recommend this kit to anyone looking to repair stripped threads and would recommend the regular use of cutting lubricant when cutting new threads.
