Inexpensive - Ball Joint & Tie Rod Tools

Is this a remanufactured tool? Yes. Will it last forever? Probably no. Does it serve its intended purpose? Yes. I bought this to replace 17 year old OEM driveshafts in the drive shafts of a Jeep Wrangler that has spent most of its life parked in the woods. I've tried picking out the joints myself but to no avail. Too stuck despite the superfluous PB Blaster. This tool removed them all in 15 minutes. Anyone who broke the unthreaded end of this tool probably had a misaligned U-connection with the

Poor quality, disposable item.

The product arrived very quickly which is great. Unfortunately I had several problems. First, only the overall design leaves something to be desired. To press out the ball joint, the screw goes up. So unless you have a very large wheel arch, you're going to have problems. Second, it doesn't come with pressure-side shims. The instructions clearly state not to use impact so I grabbed a half inch head and as I pushed out the top ball joint the c-clip started to flex with just the ball joint. half…

High quality ball joint press set.

This $48 kit was a godsend. Pressing out the lower ball joints on my 2010 Chrysler Sebring went well. The shell that went over the ball joint was about 3/16 inch too short to push it out all the way, but a couple of hits with a big punch and a hammer knocked it out all the way. Due to the way the Chrysler knuckles are formed I wasn't able to use a press to install them, but using cups and a blacksmith's hammer pressed each ball joint flush in less than 5 minutes. And yes, I removed the steering

does the job. - Steering and suspension tools

Robust - solid construction. I bought it for U-joints so don't need a lot of ball joint adapters, but it's good for keeping high mileage cars on the road. For the record, I hate injection molded nylon U-joint ferrules, but this press, clamp, and propane lamp nailed it. This made it easy to put the new cups in place. I wish I had one like this a few crosses back on another truck. For the record, this job involved a '99 Yukon front driveshaft. The tool is sturdy, even if its material isn't of the

USE SEVERAL ANTI-GRIP PRODUCTS AND THIS PRODUCT IS PERFECT!

I have an '03 Ram 3500 with a 6" lift and 37" tires on 17" rims. I'm saying this so you know this truck has been through rough times. I've tried the rented one Route to drive both Autozone and Oreillys Autoparts. These presses were fine but ended up being used and poorly maintained. I actually stripped the ball joint press threads from the Autozone. Got my money back no problem. Then after being pissed as hell about how hard it was to get my ball joints out (7 hour break) I decided I'd probably
