Description of 💾 High Performance Toshiba 1TB 5400RPM SATA3/SATA 6.0 GB/s 8MB Notebook Hard Drive (2.5 inch) - MQ01ABD100

The SATA interface 5,400 RPM notebook series hard disk drives are designed for mainstream applications requiring power-efficiency and reliability from their storage solution. Serial ATA (SATA) is a serial interface that can operate at speeds up to 6Gb/s. SATA is scalable and enables easy integration, high performance, and efficient system designs. SATA is the evolutionary replacement for the Parallel ATA (PATA) storage interface. Ramp Load technology restricts the drive’s recording head from touching the disk media, resulting in improved protection of the drive while being transported and less wear to the recording head. Optimized for use in power-friendly consumer and commercial computing systems, the drive’s power management technology provides significant power consumption savings at 4.5 watts spin up (start), and 0.18 watts (or less) standby and sleep power requirements. Toshiba’s advanced servo techniques and mechanical design minimizes drive acoustics, making them as silent as possible during operation. Capacity: 1 TB. Rotational Speed: 5400 rpm. Cache: 8 MB. Interface: SATA 3.0 Gb/s. Average Latency: 5.55 ms.

Not my best purchase, could have found something else.

Unfortunately, my Acer e15 came with this "miracle" . There is a lot of space, but it slows down godlessly. I\O constantly to the eyeballs. It's cracking. Long story short, I ordered an ssd. As an external drive it will be just perfect for its price. As a system or under software - no and again no! This is a stone in the garden of Acer, who are so "joking".

He had been using the tail for two years when he noticed that its performance had significantly decreased, and even further, the system had begun to load every other time. He went into the program to check the health of the disk, and then he understood that it was time to replace it.

Unsuccessful purchase, I am disappointed.

This disk should not be present on contemporary laptops because it is a distortion of the SATA-III standard. After some time has passed, the disc will be less easily readable. It does not fall apart; rather, it only slows down in an unacceptable manner.

Overall good, but I expected more, there are disadvantages.

The old toshiba p855 laptop is the weakest point of the brake given hdd, which was later replaced by ssd evo850. !only SATA3! *C1 _91 _91 __0 000000017D77 Full head parking cycles is about 100,000 in dec.

Pros
  • durability, about five years (notebook w Win7 -> Win10 64bit), moderate noise (there were noisier hdds in laptops),
Cons
  • slowness and brakes in all recording tasks (I fully share the negative of other reviewers)

This is a new, unused disc.

The drive is shipped in a brown box sealed in a standard anti-static bag. First I tested the drive with a Crystal Disc. It showed that it had been launched twice before and had only run for a few minutes. There is also no evidence that the label has been tampered with to hide the 'refurbished' sticker etc. So it really is a new disc, not a remanufactured one. About 750MB of data (photos and videos) was copied to it and not a single error. I tested different videos and photos to make sure they…

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Reliability

The drive failed me after 6 months and the warranty is not good!

CAUTION! The drive failed after 6 months and then when I tried to check the warranty with Toshiba I got the following message: The serial number is sold to the system manufacturer with a clear system warranty and must be returned through the system manufacturer. If you have any questions, you can contact Toshiba at 1-877-689-4899. Expiration Date: February 15, 2020 So it looks like they're either used or surplus. Anyway, the low price isn't worth turning back and buying another drive in 6…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Everything is fine with the data storage

I installed this hard drive on a new MSI gaming laptop. At first there seems to be no problem. The read and write speed of the hard disk is about 50-80 MB/s. Be sure to disable Link Power Management in the Intel Rapid Storage settings, otherwise the hard drive will slow down and speed up to an uncomfortable degree, causing lag. , which can cause a temporary freeze of software reading or writing data on the fly.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Otherwise great offer and product

I literally wanted to throw my laptop away as it broke and hadn't been used in over a year. PC dealers wanted to charge $250 for diagnostic tests alone and more for labor. I found this hard drive, the easiest install I've ever had, and brought my computer back to life. Very quiet, fully functional but no display. I had to search the internet to see the activation steps. Otherwise great deal and product.

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Not the best

It worked as expected and fixed the problem

This item was a direct replacement for a failed hard drive. I can't comment on durability as I'm not the owner of the car. I can't tell if the system was faster or not because it wasn't working when I fixed it. I can say it worked well enough to be usable. The owner did not want to spend money on an SSD and found that the machine was fast enough with a mechanical hard drive. SSDs are the future, but there is still a demand for this type of hard drive.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Available in white only

Defective on arrival

All my comments are based on results reported by the drive's SMART function. The drive was new when it arrived (0 hour life) so I believe it was indeed new and not refurbished. My first long test immediately reported bad sectors. 8 on arrival. In the end I managed to remap these sectors. I later wrote some random data to the disk and everything looked fine, but with regular use I found another set of 8 bad sectors which got reallocated again. I think this is too much for a brand new disc and…

I didn't like it, I don't recommend buying.

It was difficult to imagine the last 2 years of laptop operation without high-flown multi-level swear words - let's start with the fact that after turning on the laptop, you could go about your business for another 5 minutes while it "comes to its senses". 2 days ago, the laptop "shut down" completely, and the service center kindly returned this creation from Toshiba to me (about 90% of the disk was damaged at that time, but most of the data was saved). I agree with the authors above - if you…

Pros
  • By some miracle, he served me for 5.5 years.
Cons
  • All the same that the people above note - terrible performance and speed

The product suited me, I will recommend it to my friends.

in a laptop with external cooling or as an external hard drive is quite suitable, in general, a disc of modest capabilities, and if you don’t play and don’t deal with graphics, then it’s not bad at all 19947 hours of work, I use it daily CristalDiskInfo writes an alarm in yellow: Replacement sectors are growing, but Victoria did not find a single red one, and only 18 green sectors if it dies, i'll post it

Pros
  • bought and installed in Acer 7540G in 2022, while alive and working by the end of 2022 (3.5 years), and then and now it was and is quite cheap good price/quality ratio does not make noise, and if you make noise - marriage is most likely
Cons
  • it's not fast, but they are all like that with 5400 speed and a small buffer in the laptop, the temperature of the HDD is 40-48C and it's me who cools it but my laptop's entire cooling system is not thought out in Chinese))) without external cooling, the laptop will probably die quickly, as some write here

What did I pay for? The product is a complete failure.

Was equipped with PS4 Pro, worked for less than a year and PS began to slow down like a fiend. I did a database restore, didn't help. Then I did the initialization 2 times, it did not help, it also slowed down. The essence of the problem, I sent the curling iron to sleep at night (also during operation, the screen hung very often, waited 10-15 seconds for everything to hang), in the morning I go to the curling iron, it is turned off, it does not turn on from the controller, I turn it on from…

Pros
  • No merit.
Cons
  • Slow, read and write speed about nothing. Unreliable from the word at all. If you choose it and something else, take another, this is clearly not what you need! The problem is in the comment below.
