Works well enough.

I wasn't sure if I should give 3 or 4 stars but I decided to up the ante because overall it works well. I have found that if you have one computer that is having problems, the switch will stop responding on all computers. I prefer to press buttons on the device rather than using keyboard shortcuts because it allows me to navigate directly to the machine I want to use instead of traversing through it. I use it with all Windows devices (2 Win 7, 2 Win 10). I believe it switches within a…

Much better than the old one I used

There was an old B.kin that was for 2 devices. They were fine, but their passive nature could be a problem. You couldn't install them on a device if it wasn't already activated. Here you can set it up on PC2 while it's plugged in and it will sit there waiting for you to turn it on so you can press keys during POST etc. Since it is used, being able to install it on multiple computers at the same time was a huge pain with another device. I also ditched the two dual-port connectors in favor of…

Very satisfied so far

TRENDnet 2-port USB KVM switch and cable set. I was starting to work from home and needed a way to switch between my work laptop and my home system. I have 4 monitors on my laptop and 2 on my home system. I didn't want to spend $500 or more on a multi-monitor KVM switch. Instead I bought two of these and one and now I can switch two monitors, a mouse and a keyboard between the two systems. So far I've been pleasantly surprised at how well they work. I had no problems switching. They switch…

Very good switch for KVM switches

This item works fine. I've read some reviews on here about it breaking too quickly. I suspect it's mostly due to user error or an incomplete understanding of computer operating systems. After a while Windows will get out of sync with USB devices, same goes for MAC OS and Linux - yes it sucks but there is a fix. One that can be frustrating as having to shut down both computers and unplug both KVM USB sockets from each computer and then plug them back in and reboot systems. This happened to me…

Working (TRENDnet 2-Port KVM Switch, no audio cables)

I ordered a different brand junction box from Revain and it didn't work. It looks like it has the same connection cables, but the cables to the two computers were separate and only the USB cable was included. They provided video cables. It has video and USB together in one cable. Also, the other brand only had one button to toggle between computers 1 and 2, while this one has one button for each computer. Aside from these differences, both brands seem to be connected in a very similar way. Both

Works well, although maybe not the best

I bought this to run a very small form factor IBM laptop which I inexplicably chose to keep my only licensed copy of Microsoft Office on of a full-size keyboard. It got the job done, but with a significant downside: the image on my large, relatively low-resolution desktop monitor does NOT work as if it were a higher-resolution external monitor, instead enlarging the small, low-resolution image to accommodate the to fill the big screen. Screen! Yuki. Slightly surprising as I'm pretty sure the…

Didn't work for me in KVM switches

I don't know if this unit was defective or if it just didn't work but I had to send it back. I tried using it with two Linux boxes and a wired USB keyboard and mouse. Both the keyboard and mouse worked on one box, but I got an interrupt error on the other box and neither keyboard nor mouse worked on it. I suspect that the USB mouse/keyboard combo cable that this KVM uses could be the cause of the disconnect error, although since it worked on one computer and not the other, I think it's the…
