These tips work but are far from a really good silver tin tip. They require constant cleaning and are sometimes difficult to tin. They work, but I'd like to find really good silver plated tips to last a long time.

I have several 30 watt soldering irons with a soldering tip that was hard to find. I was able to cut the end with an 8-32 die to bring the threads together in my pencil iron. The tips work great, are easy to use and have a good point for hard work.

I ordered this item based on the description but the item I received did not match (and was not suitable for my needs). Size Described: Overall Length: 60mm/2.4in Shaft Diameter: 3.6mm/0.142in Size Received: Overall Length: 70mm/2.75in Shaft Diameter: 5.6mm/0.220in.

These are pretty decent if a bit cheap soldering iron tips. They were one of the few I could find that would fit my regular 30 watt soldering iron and they get the job done pretty well, although after using one of them it's clear they don't have the expected useful life. The lining is quite thin. However, they are cheap, which more than makes up for their short lifespan.

This is about 1cm less than what it takes to replace the original nozzle that came in my Harbor Freight soldering iron. However, I inserted this bit with enough headroom to get the job done and it was able to melt the solder. I didn't try to actually solder the joint, just checked that it was hot enough to melt the solder without pushing it all the way into the iron. I think if you're cheap enough (or use it infrequently enough) to use a $10 soldering iron from Harbor Freight, it should work.

I rarely solder so I'm sure the $40-100 station is a very good upgrade over my $6 Wal-Mart 30w soldering iron , but I can not justify the price . I've had my current iron for about 7 years and the tip has finally failed. Puddles no longer form and the solder practically no longer melts. I ordered them because I realized they were slightly smaller than what came with the iron. However, there were no problems attaching this new tip to the iron.
