Review on D-Link DPR-1260 RangeBooster G Multifunction Print Server: Boost Your Range and Printing Efficiency by Lex Ismael

Doesn't support WPA

As another reviewer noted, this print server doesn't support WPA encryption (which I use). Every time I tried to set up a wireless network using WPA, the DPR (expectedly) restarted, but then I couldn't connect. And the wireless network configuration screens didn't match those in the manual. Since my printers are currently located next to a wireless router and an Ethernet cable is already routed between the router and the DPR for setup, I decided to leave the wired connection as is. It worked for me, it might not work for you. So if you're using WPA security, be aware. Please note that I updated the firmware to the latest version (1.24) but the problem persists. Support could not help with this problem. My Samsung ML-1430 wasn't on the list of D-Link supported printers, but it works great. SECOND PROBLEM: My HP Photosmart 5280 multifunction printer is on the D-Link "only for " list, which means that scanning features may not be supported. I've tried and can scan without any problems, although as other reviewers have noted, you can who have to use D-Interface -Link But the fact that it worked was a plus I had an issue with printing the last 1/4 page or so of each document never printed the printer just stopped halfway to the Paper on like it's waiting for data I'm using Vista and used the wizard to set up Samsung and HP printers D-Link support offered to set up the HP printer manually and sent step-by-step instructions.I was skeptical but gave it a try and was glad their suggestion solved the problem 1 to 2, although in both cases they were pretty quick to respond to my problem reports (I sent an email from the D-Link website e, not called). works with both my printers and my current setup, which allows me to use an ethernet cable. If I had to move the printers further away from the Wi-Fi router, I'd be in trouble.
