2013 Hyundai Sonata with EVAP code!

My check engine light was on all the time. I took the car to a Hyundai dealer, paid 79.95 to have a diagnostic check done only to be told the code indicated an issue with the EVAP system. I thought it was because my gas cap didn't even click as stated on the gas cap. They wanted to charge me 40.00 for a new gas cap plus excavation/mechanic fees. Installing a new gas cap on my car would cost over $100.00! This new gas cap cost me less than 20.00, took me less than a minute to remove the old cap and put the new one on. The gas cap also clicked once, as expected. After 2 hours the check engine light went out.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Slightly dented
