Works perfectly . But prepare to install!

After I did the CORRECT installation, the ZPS1002 worked great. Now I have a desktop computer and two laptops that have access to a printer. Some tips: 1. Before you buy: check the compatibility list on the Zonet website. The printers are listed by manufacturer and model. Also, the list is extensive. This will prevent a reason for a return. 2. Before installation: a. Read through the very short installation guide once. After that, you will know in advance the order of connecting and turning on each component and you will not encounter an unsuccessful installation. They show pictures. b. Find out your router's IP address and subnet mask and write them down (comments follow). 3. During installation: a. Follow the software wizard and when you get to 'Change Settings' make sure you tick 'Yes'. The print server's default IP address is probably NOT within the subnet range of your router/network adapter. Therefore, you must plan to change it. Also, just leave the password blank in the same step. b. Choose and use a static IP address for the print server. I let the router assign it the first time. He worked several hours and then quit. When I reinstalled with a static IP it worked all the time. As mentioned above, you need to know your router's IP address (e.g. 192.168.1.1) and subnet mask (e.g. 255.255.255.0) in advance. Also make sure that the IP address you chose for the print server is not already assigned to another component in your system. in. If you don't know any of the addresses and don't know how to work with MSDOS, just download "Belarc Advisor" and use it (for free). It analyzes your system and shows all IP addresses of all your components in one section (preferably before installation). e. DO NOT print test pages until the installation is complete and then try again. Even with the need to reinstall, the process took about 10 minutes each time. This is a good product for what it does and worth recommending to other buyers.
