I bought this pot to use as a slow cooker, but I've used it for a lot of other things including soups, stews and things like beans. It's big enough to cook a full meal for a hungry family of four. It works just as well on the stovetop as it does in the oven. Any recipe that starts with "saute" or "brown" and ends with adding liquid and simmering is perfect for this pot. It has a large enough base for frying and enough volume to finish the dish. The rust-free surface is very easy to clean, even when it is very brown.
