Good unit for the price.

For the price this is a good bike rack. It keeps my bike secure and I love the anti sway pulley and built in lockout cable. My Highlander is easy to put on and take off. The retainer in the coupler moves a bit (I didn't use a grub screw that might solve this problem) but I don't see that as a big problem. I don't like the tilt release, where I have to remove the stylus and its taut retaining spring; there must be an easier way. The anti-sway reel is tricky to use as it requires an Allen key to…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Quality control issues, poor customer service from the company.

The rack came with a broken plastic case with a cable lock. This can cause metal parts to corrode from the elements. There were 2 distinct scratches on the post. These issues are so noticeable that I don't understand why it was in the box. My interaction with a company that makes bike racks looking for a possible solution for a lock was a horrible story where I held the phone first for 30 minutes and the second time for 45 minutes without ever contacting a person. On the third call I gave false

This is a very good bike rack for the price

This is a very good bike rack for the price. I only give 4 stars for the following reasons. It is very easy to assemble and looks very durable. The only negative note and suggestion is that the manufacturer has to drill the first bracket into the 2" shanks to accommodate full size pins that are the same size as the standard 2" hitch. I bought a hitch lock pin for my Nissan Frontier truck that fits perfectly on the shaft of my boat hitch. It's also tied to my truck key. I really don't like the…

Excellent purchase. Very beautiful.

Pretty solid build...very solid. I used a 2" receiver so I could screw it directly to the hitch, which I find makes it less noisy. I was concerned that it would be painful to take off and put back on since I don't leave it on all the time. But it's easy to take off and put on again. It's pretty over the top compared to my buddies' racks. I like that the handles fold down when there are no bikes on it and while the lock cable won't stop someone who really wants to seal the bike, I like it as it…

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Only available in black

I didn't buy it from Revain, it was from a bike rack company. I have owned this bike rack for 6 years. It's a solid, durable build whether I want it or not. 2020) bought a 92-pound e-bike with fat tires, a Monarch 1000-watt electric car. This bike rack rolls like a fat dog falling on it, I take it everywhere. I can even attach it to my 2" hitch. Two problems, it rattles a bit, the problem was solved with a $6 clip I bought at Home Depot. The same type of clip can be bought at Revain for $16.50,

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • nothing here

My favorite lock was cycling

When used in a 2" receiver the stand is VERY wobbly. I tried putting duct tape around the clutch to fill in some of the gaps and reduce the movement, but it was a very temporary and not very successful trick. I bought this hitch specifically for security reasons (I couldn't believe there weren't any more struts with locks built in). I loved the lock but shortly after I started using the trunk my bike blew away at 65mph on the freeway! This of course broke the lock (not to mention my bike)…

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Expensive

Poor quality - won't buy again

Second time buying this model. The first only served about three years (2015-2018). The locking mechanism fell out of the plastic case after about a year. The rubber straps broke after two years. It rusted and the folding mechanism never worked as pictured. However, I liked the price and it was one of the few totes that suited me SUV so I bought another one in December 2018 which I've been using for less than three months. Here are the problems: The carrier packs a lot more punch than the first
