My code reader gave me a code indicating the need or replacement of the gas cap. That's why I ordered it from Revain. It arrived as planned and I installed it on my car easily with no problems. This code disappeared, as soon as I reprogrammed the system with my code reader, this code was eliminated. It's easy to install and follow the simple instructions.

I recently bought a 2012 Cadillac CTS. When I first filled up, I found that the gas cap was some sort of aftermarket product that didn't seem to close properly. Also, the cable that attaches the cap to the door was irregular in shape and just glued. Since an ill-fitting gas cap can be a problem (like a check engine light coming on), I ordered this cap as a replacement. The shape of the cable is perfect (no sticking) and the cap is perfectly tight, as you would expect from an original part.

My check engine light stays on with this cover. I had to reset the old one to make the light go out. The problem with the old one is that the strap that dangles the cap when topping up the gas broke. I can't get over the gas cap. In general I am very satisfied with everything. Arrived on time and well packaged. The gas cap was actually a genuine replacement part (2010 Chevy Equinox 2.4L) and fitted in minutes (had to pull out the old line anchor which broke the old one). I bought this because my car was showing code P0449 "Evaporator Leak". "Large Leak Detected" even after replacing the faulty evaporator solenoid and making sure the gas cap was leaking.
