Received the gas cap today and installed it on a 2021 Chevy Colorado z71 off-road pickup. it fits like a glove, very happy with the product, it was a genuine GM part.

Guess what? fits and works. yes it is plastic. It keeps your tank tight and safe! it is deterrent and closure for your tank. looked everywhere. that's the only thing i found. The packaging says AC Delco. Chevrolet Silverado 2018

Purchased for 2017 Colorado V6 Gasoline Engine. The lid fits over the rim of the pourer/filler but it doesn't do what it's supposed to do. It won't catch on the rim of the spout/filler and is easily removed by simply prying the rim of the cap slightly and pulling with one hand. The search for a permanent solution continues.

I've seen other reviewers here say it can be removed instantly without a key. I tell them you need to install it properly. It must be pressed in as far as it will go so that there is no gap between the cover and the base plate on the bracket. If properly installed, it CANNOT be removed without unlocking it. Excellent for preventing water, dust and gravel from entering the fuel filler neck. Very happy with this mounting cap!

Received this cover today and it came with one of the keys installed in it. I can't get the key out of the lock. It can be rotated to lock and unlock the lock, but cannot be removed in any position. I wanted something as a deterrent and more or less just something to keep water/dirt out. Entrance to the gas tank. The flap over the opening is by design to keep things out, but when you stick the fuel pump injector nozzle into the inlet, the flap opens and some water enters the tank. (No big deal.) This lid prevents this and also serves as a deterrent to vandals etc as it appears to be locked. I said appears because I can take it off even if it seems blocked. So I gave it a 4. To be honest…

Perfect for Silverado 2018 I had a problem with one of the keys as it was difficult to remove. Found it has burrs that needed trimming. Once I did that, there was no problem extracting the key. The other key was ok. So a 4 star rating instead of 5. I've seen some mentions of it being plastic and if you look closely at the filler neck it's plastic too. If this cap were metal, it would damage the filler neck. It is primarily secured in the grooves on the filler neck, so it is all the more…
