Wi-Fi Adapter Update

My desktop is in a cabinet under my desk and because of this and the old Wi-Fi on my desktop I am getting a very slow Wi-Fi connection. I'm seeing around 150Mbps with a 400Mbps WiFi setup. I added a USB WiFi adapter and put it on the table and now I'm getting about 240Mbps on average. AMAZING UPDATE! This adapter is easy to set up with Windows 10 and works great. I tested both adapters and then each adapter, and this USB wireless adapter offers the best speed by far. Recommended if you have a…

Easy to install, slightly improved speed.

I found that my computer can't receive my 5G network like my phone. I bought this antenna to see if I can receive 5G. The antenna came with a 3-step "Quick Installation" guide: insert the CD, plug in the antenna and scan/connect to a Wi-Fi network. I followed the instructions and connected to the 5G network in a minute. Download speeds are now in excess of 30Mbps, which may not impress many of you. I'm paying for the lowest AT&T speed I can get because I'm just surfing the web (no gameplay)…

Get the job done with a direct USB connection

I mainly wanted this as a backup as our bunnies like to chew on wires. This one comes with a dock/stretch as shown in the photos, but when I set it up like this, every 30 seconds or so the USB handshake resets and then reconnects. So I was treated to a symphony of USB disconnect and reconnect noises, and it dropped my Wi-Fi connection every time. Not sure if this particular dock or cable is at fault or a design issue, but the antenna works fine when plugged directly into a USB port, good…

Portability and Ease of Use

Since my tower is under my desk and there isn't much room for an antenna, I needed to find something that would fit on my desk and still have a good signal. This receiver comes with a cable long enough to reach the back corner of the table. I had to use double sided tape to keep it where I put it as it's a bit heavy and tends to fall off or my cat would smack it to the ground. The only problem I had was that it was just turned off for the first few days. if you turn it off and on again, it will

Inexpensive WiFi upgrade

Installed on desktop and laptop. There was no Wi-Fi on the desktop. The laptop scored 30MB on the Google Speed test from the opposite side of the house. Although Wi-Fi through this antenna can operate completely separately from the laptop's Wi-Fi, I found performance was best when both antennas were active. Wi-Fi through this external antenna is completely separate, but Windows 10 mixes the signal very well. There was no Wi-Fi on the desktop until I added it through this antenna. The Realteck…

Personally. I do not recommend this adapter for 5G WiFi

Worked in 5G for less than a day. It took about 3 months for my computer to get 24 hours of use. 5G gave me all kinds of lag, page loading errors, and intermittent video playback stutters. Moving to 2.4G fixes the issue, but I'm not buying a WiFi adapter to use at 2.4G speeds. The range is great due to the massive antennas, but really I wouldn't recommend absolutely anything, going back to the old TP-Link AC 600 nano and I got my 5G connection back with no issues. My experience may be isolated,

That saved the day!

I recommend this dual band wireless USB adapter! I previously bought another wireless router for my desktop computer that I had about 2 days ago. The problem that got me going was that my antenna was on the back of my desktop but the signal was weak so I put it on the front of my computer which caused another problem; Constant contact with the antenna will cause the device to malfunction. When I was looking for another Wi-Fi adapter, I needed one that would allow my antenna not to be in…

Gives me the best speed so far.

I currently have an internal AC wireless card in my desktop gaming PC, but a USB Wi-Fi adapter gives you a lot more mounting options to get the best signal and performance receive. the buy is that the base has a short usb cable which really limits the mounting options. Otherwise it would be a total of 5 stars. So I bought a 6 inch USB 3.0 extender and plugged the extender into the base first. This was not good as the data transfer speed was severely impacted. It reduced my speed by almost half.

Works Great: USB Network Adapter

For those who don't know what these are, plug them into a PC (standard desktop computer) and they turn your computer into a wireless, non-connecting computer router/modem. This basically allows your PC/desktop to connect to the internet, but wirelessly. All you have to do is plug it in, it's very simple. As long as you leave it on, it will work just like a laptop (or like a direct connection to a router/modem) every time you connect to the internet. I mention this because I was visiting a…
