I'm stuck at work on a 2017 MacBook and only have one side of the 2 USBC ports. I can connect a monitor with an HDMI cable. But I have to choose between power or another monitor for the Thunderbolt slot (another USBC is data only). This product works great and is perfect if you are using a MacBook with extra USBC ports. I use two monitors for work and usually my laptop is closed and hidden while I work. Apple's new USB-C just made me adapt, there are so many of them you need to plug in a charger and two monitors. you basically have no choice. This gadget does exactly what it says on the tin. I was able to plug it into my MacBook Pro and connect the power cord, connect an external DVD drive via USB, and hook it up to a high-definition 4K TV with an HDMI cable.
