I had these on the last three trucks. I had to replace them twice because I broke them while pulling stuff out of my truck. As much as I love them, I wish they were a little more durable and had all-metal construction instead of plastic. I would be willing to pay more for a bulletproof aluminum version that could take the wrong voltage and not snap. Plus they hold my extension cord under heavy loads.

The perfect addition to the bed extension. This allows the bed extension to lift straight up instead of pivoting. Basically, it allows you to get a larger object into bed. For example, if you have a large dresser that you carry lying down. The bed extension must not rotate over it - even if it fits sideways, it may be too high. In this case, you can just uninstall and install it, but with two quick releases unlocked. very convenient!

For the price of the expansion itself, I wish they were included. Or at least these things will be a little cheaper. Its worth it? Yes. I have a truck canopy/cover and this helps with removal as you simply use the handle and lift the extension straight up. Definitely not crooked. I'm not sure why other reviewers don't mention this, but the main reason for this part is the ability to remove the bed extension without opening the trunk lid. If you don't have a ton, there's no point in buying this. The standard brackets that come with the bed extender are fine. I installed them like this on my 16 and they matched the stock extension holes perfectly. They work great with the Truxedo Lopro cover and I no longer have to open them to remove (or move) the bed extension.

Great product but no installation template but called customer service and they directed me straight to their website where I could print! Excellent customer support! I bought this set after moving a sofa for my sister. The length of the sofa was about 3 inches from the top of my tailgate in the down position. Perfect job for BedXtender, right?
