After some questions and research I would say that you really need two HDMI ports or not. The typical connector used is HDMI 1.4 and the supplied standard HDMI cable is 1.4. Brightness drops sharply on the left and right sides of the display (observed on two devices) at or near maximum brightness. This leaves the center as a bright spot. This monitor is quite sharp and the screen gets pleasantly bright. Viewing angles are good and black areas are fairly dark. I like to use this display with HDR enabled all the time. I bought 5 of these monitors in 2020 in a few months. For the first 6-18 months I have 1-2 red or blue vertical lines on the right third of 4 out of 5 monitors. It is very difficult to contact customer service to have a repaired monitor shipped to you and you need to make sure you see and report it before the first year (12 months) of the warranty expires. Aside from a few nasty lines due to stuck pixels, the monitors are good and otherwise well priced for standard 4k.
