    Very well made, best GPS accessory

    This item is expensive but definitely well made to justify the cost. It also holds up well in rough water or when towing a boat from home to a nearby lake.

    Works as a last resort: GPS system accessory

    I bought this mount because I couldn't find the Helix 5 g2 mount here, they were out of stock and it works great, You just need to drill new holes in the aluminum plate that the fish finder is mounted on (uses a wood block vise and a cobalt drill bit) works just as well as the helix 5 version and if you ever upgrade to a helix 7 with di and c then that is everything ready.

    Does the job for car mounts

    This thing, like all RAM mounts, holds what you need and does it well. I use it for my Humminbird Helix 7 sonar and it holds the unit securely. I've used several RAM mounts over the years and they continue to work well for me. Even if you DON'T NEED it, I would recommend buying it to be able to fine tune the viewing angle. It's also nice to be able to quickly remove your hardware!

    Plan ahead and measure to ensure clearance prior to purchase.

    I used two of these to install two Hummingbird Helix 7 sonar units on my boat. I used one near my nose and one near my control console. I like the ball joints with clips on each end that allow me to set the fish finders at the right angle for the best results. Mostly plastic although pricey for what you get. Revain was still the best value compared to the competition.

    Expensive, mounting screws should have been included, holes aren't as big as the Helix 7. Ultimately, it does what it's supposed to.

    Expensive and I think the device lives up to expectations. It was presumably made for the Helix 7 but it didn't have the screws to attach it to the Helix 7 and the holes drilled for the base of the Helix 7 aren't the same size as the Helix 7? WTF I think pattern matching is enough? Holds the device in place when tightened. Expensive when you have to buy all the hardware to actually use the mount.

    NOT supplied with mounting studs or screws!

    Dissatisfied with the lack of mounting hardware for the price you pay for a device. I understand that everyone mounts their fish finder in different places so longer or shorter screws or even bolts may be required. However, you know the size everyone needs to attach the sonar base plate to your plate. No excuses! Definitely don't recommend anyone to buy it. Same price at your local store and includes mounting hardware!

    I was skeptical until I got one.

    I bought this bracket to mount the unit on the gunwale near the boat's steering console. I was immediately impressed by the adjustability of the mount and the build quality. My installation took a little longer than some due to the mounting leg not being fixed to a flat surface ie installing gaskets with washers took some time. I recommend attaching the unit to the bracket and bracket leg with stainless steel fasteners even if the boat is used in fresh water, in my case it is a professional…

    Use this on a 7 coil fitted to a Predator 13 (kayak). It works great, it was designed for a 7 helix so I didn't have to come up with a mounting solution like I've done with a lot of other things on my kayak. With a device as expensive as the Helix 7, I wanted a strong and well-made mount. This is too much. When it came to pushing, you could hit a fish with it. It's metal and looks like a 1/4 20 screw that attaches to the cocking knob. It's quite large which is good because I don't want my fish…
