I don't know how this works or is suitable for a child under 30 pounds. I ordered this for my little granddaughter who is 2 years old but weighs about 23 pounds. Went with this compared to the Stearns I ordered for her 4 year old sister based on reviews saying it worked on young children. It was huge around the waist and her arms aren't beginning to stay inside. I have ordered another one like her sisters although it is still a bit big.

I like his usual puddle jumper but he sagged and he could take his hands off him when he came out of the water and that made me nervous. Tried it today right after delivery and it's AMAZING. This product is absolutely amazing, first of all, my daughter is 20 months old and weighs about 28-30 pounds. It fits her so well and is snug enough around her small body. It is secure in the life jacket, it will NOT slide off or become detached. The raised chest piece helps keep the head and body upright. And parts of the hands.
