BOSCH JA1010 Jig Saw Guide: Precision Circular and Parallel Cutting Tool in Black Review

The connection to the jigsaw is not very clear. It's a fairly cheap guide plastic, fairly flimsy, and doesn't track very well along the straight edge of the blade. In the end he did his job with 2 out of 5 stars. I cut my piece off but I really needed a table saw to get a clean cut.

I found my Bosch jigsaw to be excellent so it is obvious that Bosch's attachment for their saw will also be of good quality. Wrong, badly done, very cheesy and flimsy. I just threw it in a drawer and maybe one day I can use it for something else like a paint stirrer or something.

I ordered this guide because the guide I used on my other jigsaws does not work with my Bosch jigsaw. I don't do a lot of circles or arcs with a jigsaw, but I needed it to complete a project. Works as intended and overall I have had no issues installing or using it. As with all Bosch accessories, the cost varies greatly from the actual cost.

Jigsaw with circle cutter may work in certain circumstances. The blade in the jigsaw needs to be sharp to cut the circles. If it's a normal straight cut, then the blade will bend and cut the plastic in a circle, creating beveled circles rather than round ones. The supplier of the round bracket did not provide any instructions for the user. The blade is most important for the small size, not the standard 1/4", otherwise the results will be unpredictable. 07/07/2019

requires finesse and too much effort not to make a spiral instead of a circle. Brackets are weak. Annoyingly, it doesn't fit in a specific spot in the case. I was surprised at how well it handled copying, being able to replicate part of the face frame and just paste it. Circles, I'm better off with any universal or store guides.

I've used it once and it does the main job of guiding the saw. Best suited for larger pieces of wood (e.g. two inches wider than the attachment). As I cut thin strips from the edge of the smaller piece, the protruding steel ruler ran into my clamp and I had to come up with a more creative way to attach the piece. I bought this to use a Bosch JS572E jigsaw to cut holes in plywood. The product drawings in the instructions DO NOT CORRECT THE PRODUCT! So plan to find out for yourself. I recommend practicing on a piece of scrap once or twice. Also, the assembly instructions were very ambiguous and incomprehensible, making it easy to attach the clips in a way that doesn't work. The product I received is different from the image on the site and from what is described in the instructions that came with the manual. I'm not sure how well it will hold up and my saw's setup is very tight making it very difficult to adjust. The part number for the guide matches what is listed as an optional accessory in the manual that came with my saw.
