I was really surprised at the quality for the price. They are used on a 5x10 trailer with a ramp. Much heavier than factory parts. welding required. Unfortunately, my welding skills are lame.

Great quality very strong and durable runs smoothly but the handle is so big you can't turn it far enough to lock and unlock it , so make sure nothing happens doesn't prevent you from installing them

I'm sure the thing is good and capable, but not for me. Almost twice as big as in the photo. I couldn't use it because it was too big for what I needed. See the photo I've attached to the real spring latch I received. I had to go back and get something smaller.

On the one hand, my trailer has a full drawbar up to the first axle. I wouldn't add a side gate unless the trailer had a full tongue. I wanted to make a side gate for my 20 foot 12,000 pound trailer. It's much easier to load a 2 ton pallet from the side and push two from the back. I used a weft in front and a longer one near the axle.

Used to install swing gates on a cargo trailer. There were a few minor issues we were able to work around: the pull handle is wider than the bolt body, so the pull handle had to be reconfigured to not be wider than the bolt body; a continuous pin that secures the latch in the stowed position protrudes laterally. It may need to be filed before the block is welded on.

I recently upgraded my trailer by replacing the side panels and welding a taller guardrail along with expanded steel and using this latch on top. The latch is very thick and strong and the spring pin makes it easier to pull out and has worked very well so far. I used a Lincoln MIG welder and the job took less than a few minutes, after which I painted it with an etch primer and spray paint. High-quality bar for every trailer 👍
