I will not buy again

I tried all kinds of salo blocks. This is the first bird not eaten by birds in my area. Even squirrels doubt it. While my other blocks of oil go away in a day or two, these last a week or more and yet I just have to remove them because they start to smell bad. Also, unlike all the others, it doesn't take the Kansas summer heat and gets very melty even if you keep it in the fridge before placing it. I would not buy this item again.

Our wild birds loved it!

This is the same butter cake you can find at hardware stores. Revain's price varies so much that it's pretty crazy, but sometimes you can get it for a really good price. This is a non-melting fat cake, so it can be a little confusing to insert into a feeder (unless it's very cold). I have used in temperatures above the 50's. Our wild birds understood that immediately. We've seen titmice, juncos, twinklings and fluffy woodpeckers pecking. Of course, those rogue squirrels came to bite off theโ€ฆ

Affordable and good value for money

Birds peck at this fat in cold weather as it is needed to keep them warm. The lard is in a bowl and looks more like beef tallow than millet (birdseed). The cake will be soft and crumble when removed from the plastic tray and thrown into the cage (bird feeder). If you store this lard indoors, it's a soft, greasy cake that's difficult to use and will firm up when it's cold. I plan on ordering a few more to last until spring, I don't recommend this bird fat cake in warm weather. Overall it's aโ€ฆ

BEST Value - High energy for our feathered sights

During the winter and when birds seem to be migrating, we keep a few blocks of lard in the food bowls to give our feathered visitors a high calorie meal Offer. . As the weather gets warmer and their natural food becomes more available, we fill the lard feeder less often. I often use a non-melting product when I can find it on sale and when the weather is really hot. The good thing about C&S blocks is that birds LOVE them. Prices are very reasonable. "Cons" are minimal. In warm weather, yourโ€ฆ
