I was on vacation and got a scanner from my co-workers. The scanner was in torn cardboard and had no protection for shipping. I just got back to work and wanted to set up a scanner where I can see everything. look at the pictures. You will see that it has been broken before and the scanner will display an error message indicating the lid is open.

We have 6 DR-G1100 and they are having issues with the red

We have found a major flaw in the G1100 which Canon has been unable to fix for the last several years. The new series (2100) is better, the old series (9050) is also better. The 1100s were Canon's way of cutting corners and making things worse. Red Enhance is needed when someone is writing in red ink. If you haven't turned on Red Boost, the red ink will disappear! But to make it better, the blue content is very dark. The whole red page? Outside of memory error. These machines cannot process…

It's worth the investment if you scan a lot.

Our office bought this scanner after using two Epson GT-S50. Older scanners loaded from the top, about 75 documents (if you were lucky) and often got stuck. We chose this scanner because it scans forwards and backwards at 100 pages per minute, has stop-before-jam capabilities and allows you to leave 500 pages in the document feeder. I admit that we were very skeptical that this would work. We usually have uneven pages, 2-3,000 documents to scan, pages stuck together and many other obstacles…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!

  • Repair

A workhorse with a serious problem that Canon doesn't solve

This is a five star scanner as long as it works, but when it fails Canon doesn't do anything to solve the problem and becomes a one-star scanner after that. I bought my first DR-G1100 in January 2014 and it was a lemon. The Canon Authorized Service Center couldn't fix it so I returned it and bought a second unit. After that I had a five star experience for several months until one day the included software (Capture Perfect 3.1) reported an out of memory issue. The scanner works fine with…
