This drain pan makes oil changes a lot cleaner, no mess, no spills and most importantly when it's time to dump the oil into a container for disposal (responsible at the collection point ) I could pour it out easily without dripping.

So why reconsider the drain pan? I don't know, it's boring. If you too are bored and looking at these reviews, rest assured that your money is well spent on this round plastic wonder. It catches my old oil like a champ and then makes it very easy to pour the new oil back into the bottle. Ahh, done.

As other reviewers have said, this is a well thought out product. However, one thing I haven't seen in these reviews is that you can insert the spout into a standard 5 liter container and tilt it to stand on its own and drain completely. I don't know if this explains everything well, but if you try it you'll see what I mean. Just make sure there is room in the bottle to collect what drips without overflowing (don't ask me how I know).

Overall this pan is fine except for one flaw. If you transfer this pot to another container, you have to be very careful, water very slowly and be careful how far you tilt the pot. If you tilt it too far, the oil will run right over the edge and all over the floor. The nose and lip should have been much bigger. Also, I like to clean the pan after use, so I don't have an oil filled pan in my garage and this pan is very difficult to clean.

This is a good oil pan for the money. Feels very strong and does not flex when filled. Ideal for cars or other vehicles where you need to catch 4-6 liters of oil leaving room for it to slosh without spilling when you carry it into your waste oil container. A good tool in the arsenal of a small garage or home workshop. A good size for catching oil under the differential cases, but can be small for the transmission pan unless you can drain the oil from a corner of the pan or the plug first.

I should have bought it many years ago. Every time I change my oil it would be frustrating to dump the used oil from the sump back into the disposal bottle. I always ended up making a mess, apparently half the oil fell on the floor and was disposed of with paper towels. Use a funnel. The lip ring prevents spills from spilling and keeps the oil in the spout when pouring. They really put some thought into this pot and it shows!

I hate this product. because I feel like an idiot for not buying it sooner. If you change fluids in your cars, do yourself a favor and just buy one. It is durable and the drain spout makes it easy to drain the water. For a long time I only used this rectangular plastic bowl because I already had it. 6 liters caught with a small rim, then conveniently poured back into an empty 5 liter jug without spilling a drop. The spout is placed in a pot without a funnel and is quickly poured. No fuss, no fuss. A little brake cleaner to remove residual oil and plug the spout with a small paper towel to soak up the residual oil so it doesn't spill out in storage. Good quality frying pan.
