The best radio on the market

I've been using Sony's cute little AM/FM/SW radio for years but haven't been happy with the reception or the sound quality, especially on the AM bands, and that it was battery powered so I didn't get any feedback on the electrical wires. Most good quality radios have excellent FM reception, but I was looking for a radio with excellent AM reception. I researched radios and radio reception for a while before coming across independent reviews and comparisons of these radios. This radio is…

You probably won't succeed.

We had high hopes for this radio. His own manual states that a good signal can be expected within 300 miles during the day and much further at night. My husband had a lengthy chat with the seller prior to purchasing this radio to ensure it would suit us before spending a significant sum on the radio. The distance between our home in Coquitlam, British Columbia and Mercer Island in Seattle, where the KIXI AM880 radio broadcasts, is approximately 150 miles. Can't say we didn't have reception, but

Began to fail after a few years of use.

I bought this radio about 2 years and 9 months ago. I liked everything about it until I was 2.5 years old. That's when my problems with him started. The buttons on top started behaving strangely. Button number 1 doesn't respond unless I press it very hard or press it about 10 times. When I pressed the power button the light came on but the radio didn't actually come on. These problems are not permanent, but temporary. But enough that things are getting pretty annoying. This is all very…

Excellent radio. Perfect example "Pay for quality, get quality "

I wanted a good radio controlled clock next to my bed. Above all, I wanted presets and good reception. Sleep timer, alarm clock, AM FM, "plug in the wall", digital tuning and antenna were "must haves". I've seen many cheaper clock radios that don't fit this description. This C. Crane radio was ALL I wanted. but for 169€. Of course there was a half price radio with all my features. So I bought it. This is Radio Excellent. The instructions are simple and comprehensive. "Carry notch" is…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Communication with seller

I bought this radio three and a half years ago. After about a year of normal use, the preset buttons above began to fail: that is, you press one and nothing happens. This problem gradually got worse with the buttons on top and has now spread to EVERY button on the radio. It's all random: you press the clock set button, for example, and the station changes, or the band changes, or the display dims. Meanwhile, the preset buttons above are 100% useless. The radio sounds as good as ever, which is…

Fantastic two way radio

I have to say right away that I'm not even a radio amateur, just a radio amateur. I find radio much more romantic and captivating than modern broadcasting methods. Staying up late and spinning the dial with the soft glow of the tuner, the sound of hissing and mystery that can sometimes accompany radio broadcasts, offers something truly authentic that you can't get anywhere else today. That feeling is priceless and cannot be repeated (if it were even a word). Either way, this is a good quality…

Great reception, poor build quality (update note)

I've had CCRadio2E for 2.5 years now. Reception and sound quality are excellent, but build quality is mediocre for the money. It was good when it was new, but has had these issues ever since. I always connect the power cord to it before changing the batteries, otherwise it often loses the transmitter and clock memory. The power button works. Often it turns on the backlight instead of turning on the radio, requiring me to press the power button multiple times to turn on the radio and then turn…
