🚗 Continental OE Tech Series 4060955 6-Rib, 95.5-inch Multi-V Belt Review

What arrives (mine sent by express) is not the Continental Elite but the Goodyear Gatorback; However, they are actually identical products. They changed their name to Continental Elite a few months ago. Thought I should post this in case anyone gets upset when they see they have a 'different' brand than the one ordered.

I bought this belt to replace the chirping Dayco belt on my 1993 Chevy pickup, 350 V8 w/c, no smoke pump. This Continental Elite belt is a Goodyear Gatorback belt. Gatorback is marked directly on the belt. Maybe Continental bought that line of belts from Goodyear. The belt was easy to assemble and very quiet! No more chirping. I will never buy another belt brand again.

I have had my 01 Chevy Silverado 2500HD LT 8.1L for about 3 years now and it has always had this high pitched popping/squeaking noise. My friend and I replaced every pulley we could, as well as the alternator, and swore the squeaking would stop. It never stopped and stopped immediately as soon as I poured some water on the bottom of the strap. I noticed this belt in a YouTube review and what you know aren't tweets anymore. THIS PRODUCT WORKS =-)

This belt is amazing. I've had squeaky issues with my 1994 Checy truck for quite some time. I've tried different brands of straps. I have also replaced several rollers + tensioners - without success. I finally read on a forum to use Goodyear Gatorbacks to get rid of the squeak. I was skeptical at first until I got the belt and attached it to my truck. Aleluia! works, it no longer creaks under the hood. I am considering buying another one just as a backup

Note how another reviewer said that this is NOT always the elite series with diagonal side grooves, also known as the old Goodyear gatorback belts (Continental acquired this line from Goodyear). . They SHOULD match the main Continentals catalogue, but they don't. Just an old style multi-ribbed serpentine belt. I ordered two and both are the same design. When searching, make sure it's marked "Elite" to get the old Gatorback style rib belt.

Goodyear came in sealed factory packaging. The price was very high! The product has a silent design to be silent but obviously very thin compared to my old bouncer/dayco belt. It was a thick, heavy-duty belt, but when unoiled or very cold I heard this belt squeak and could hear Turing pulleys so If you're concerned about noise, get a Gator belt. If you plan on working in extreme conditions, don't get it as this strap will last, but not as long as Dayco Gator straps/doormans are probably made of

I purchased and installed this product over 3 years ago when it was a Goodyear product. It was installed on an Avalanche 2500 with an 8.1 engine. There are several blogs about this configuration, which causes a rhythmic squeak when the engine is running. The squeaking doesn't go away at any rpm. I've checked and changed tensioners, checked alternator bearings, diagnosed the water pump, used different brands of V-ribbed belts, etc. Nothing fixed. I bought this for a 1991 Chevy C1500 5.7/350 with AC but no smoke pump and the fit is the same. No difference, no problem.
