Either that or the pulley stopped the noise.

I replaced the fan belt and idler pulley at the same time. The LOUD, disgusting squeal disappeared. I can confirm this will fit a 1998 Ford Ranger 3.0L Splash Side 4x4 Extended Cab pickup. One note: in order to move the tensioner down far enough to easily put a new belt on, I had to remove the motor fan (it's held on by 4 small screws). You may not need to do this, but the socket wrench I used caught in the center of the fan, causing me to remove the fan to get the wrench's full range of…

Great belt for Serpentine

This is a fantastic belt. Perfect fit for my 2006 Nissan Altima 2.5 S. I was planning to replace my very worn original belt (sorry to say it has 160,000 miles on it). My only suggestion for the weary ones (it's easier than changing brakes, to be honest): DO NOT try to scan the QR code on the back for belt routing information, as you won't get that information. It just provides you with some other information that is completely irrelevant. Have a friend help you route the belt (remove the…

Identical to Gatorbacks

I ordered this belt in May 2015. I ordered a Goodyear Gatorback for my 2005 Ford Ranger 3.0 and received a Continental Elite with the same part number. I was confused and wanted to return it but decided to try before I did. The belt barely fits in, is so tight that it doesn't sag at all. I'm not sure if it was supposed to be that way, but it has stayed on the truck without a chirp or squeak ever since. My last Gatorback fell off driving 80 mph on my way to work in San Diego, but it was caused…

3 years and 8 months later.

I've often encountered the annoying problem of squeaky belts and of course the problem was the cheap belts available at our local auto parts stores. I bought this Continental Elite in April 2015 and when it arrived I noticed a difference in the grooves, thickness and weight balance. It's very durable compared to the old belts I bought. I'm writing this review 3 years and 8 months after purchase and recently the belt creaked, but only because it was raining heavily. After the car is started and…

Good premium belt, helped quiet my squeaks.

I liked the belt, it seems to squeak quieter, although at the same time I replaced the tensioner. The Continental Elite Poly-V strap was formerly known as the Goodyear Gator strap. Continental bought it from Goodyear and renamed it. Note. The Revain Vehicle Compliance Checker did NOT correctly identify this belt for me and told me it would not fit my vehicle. I decided to address this because a lot of the bad reviews are related to the wrong size. I ended up going to Continental's parts finder…

BUY THIS BELT! - Belt

I have a 2003 Toyota Sequoia and have been struggling with a squeaking/clicking for four months. I asked the dealer to replace my timing belt back in January and as part of that replacement they also replaced the serpentine belt with a Dayco OEM belt. About a month later, I started hearing a squeaking noise on the lower left side of the engine when the engine speed was over 1500 RPM, and this noise gradually increased. After trying to isolate the noise and deciding the belt was new, I replaced…
