UPDATED - died after 5 months!

[September 2019 Update] The starter motor died during a long drive and left me stuck. super unhappy. My batteries were brand new when I replaced the starter. No corrosion on the connections. Also new battery wiring. [Original review before he died] There are two pins on the SND0355 - one for the main battery cable and the other for the ignition. On my 7.3 liter 02 F250 diesel engine I had to straighten the battery terminal to fit the DB starter. Also, I had to bend the cross member a bit…

This is a BIG $$ STARTER!

while my 7.3 starts very quickly! but had to bend the crossbar a bit to get it in. I used a pipe wrench to tighten it a bit and so far so good. I keep checking the starter to make sure it's tight because it only has two bolts holding it in place. but so far so good! I will give an update date in 6 months! RENEW ! DO NOT BUY THESE STARTERS FROM (((( DB )))) THE FIRST STARTER ONLY LASTED A YEAR AND A HALF! THERE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS UNFRIENDLY AND DON'T EVEN SUPPORT THE STARTER! I KNOW THE…

So it was kind of crazy. The first one I ordered was in a totally destroyed box and had no protection around it so it was hit badly. Came back straight away and got a new one that was in better condition. Now I have something to say about it! And I installed this on a 1997 F-350. 1) The stock starter has 3 screws. This one only uses 2. very strange but it fits and most importantly it works. although I'll keep an eye on it. 2) saw several reviews that something needs polishing. Do not do that…

If this opinion is correct, I should have done it many years ago. My old 2000 7.3 used to be slow to start, but lately it's gotten worse, I had to turn the glow plugs at 65 degrees! This beast spins way faster than I've ever seen the old 7.3 spin spin. Best of all, it ignites instantly in a second or two with no glow plugs. I love it. I had to sand the crossbar a bit to get it in place. Once he enters, it's no problem. I think you could also lift the engine from one side and slide it in, but it

So far so good, time will tell.

I installed this starter on my 1995 Ford F-450 7.3 PowerStroke. This starter is almost twice the size of the original factory starter. I installed this new starter and it only had 2 bolt holes instead of the 3 the original truck has. I was skeptical that two holes would be enough and the starter would play, but that didn't happen. Being able to use only two holes on the starter suited the engine perfectly, and it felt very secure and solid given its sheer size and weight. When connecting the…

Cross member may need to be cut to fit

I have a 2000 Ford F250 Superduty 7.3 with PowerStroke 7.3 engine and manual transmission. The difference between the original OEM starter and the DB Electrical 410-52057 starter was significant. Not very similar, but what a difference in the beginning! Before I made the switch, I had to turn on the glow plugs and key on 2-3 times on a warm day to get the truck to start. I knew my batteries were fine so I decided to try a new starter. Due to the different shape of the new DB starter (a bit…

Reliable (so far), Cold Start = No problem

I have a 99.5 7.3 f250. There are two mounting holes, as everyone said, looks the same as everyone said. No body modifications required (no grinding). Be sure to disconnect the batteries to turn it on. First I connected the wires and then inserted. The large positive wire has a pin that needs to be flattened. Someone said they set a fire on their truck. Just make sure the pin on the big red wire is straight and not touching the starter housing. I may have broken it. I can't remember, but I do…

Starts incredibly fast good as long as it lasted

The car is a 2002 F250 4 door long platform and while it fit well I didn't have to sand anything to make it fit. This starter revs the engine incredibly fast and lets the truck start very quickly, which is a godsend in winter. HOWEVER, I bought this starter in February 2017 and it was having issues with magnet wear or not being able to transfer the power needed to actually spin the starter. Interstate 1000 amp batteries less than 2 years old over 12.6 volts after being outdoors for several…

After a long search for the best starter motor for my 2003 F250 7

After a long search for the best starter motor for my 2003 F250 7.3 stroke diesel engine the original nippendenso made in Japan was the right choice. . The disadvantage of this option is that sellers claiming to sell original Denso have had prices ranging from 300.00 to 548.00. After reading the reviews of a copy of the DB Electric Denso, I decided to stop at this option. The starter arrived in good condition and looks well made. It took me about 15 minutes to remove the factory Visteon…
