This is decent security protection and easy to install, but the hardware is a bit flimsy and the screws are cheap. When using my power drill in a Phillips head, one got rounded. In addition, they are short and will not withstand a heavy shoulder. On the other hand, you can prevent children from opening the door or elderly people from walking around.

The chain broke when my 3 year old quickly pulled the door! The quality is really questionable. I've tried contacting the manufacturer for a replacement but they keep redirecting me to voicemail. You called me back once; however, I was unavailable. There is no other good way to get in touch with them other than calling them and if you are a busy person like me, good luck with that!

The screws included in the kit are for drywall only and could not damage the finish of my wood and metal doors. I had to buy extra screws to break the right surface so be aware. For the rest I have no complaints. Does exactly the job I need it for. I don't think it would really hold up if someone actually tried to break into the house. However, I just had to make sure the little kids didn't open the door and leave the house without my knowledge.

I installed the lock only to find that I could barely fit the chain lock into the groove on the bracket where it was supposed to latch and the chain lock didn't fit in that Hole designed to hold the chain when unlocked. When you unlock the chain, you can hang it in the hole attached to the chain. The hole is very shallow and therefore cannot be used. As you can see the hole is very shallow making it difficult to keep the chain unlocked.

I installed this in about 10 minutes. I use it to keep my little ones out of the house unnoticed. I think this lock can keep an honest man's honesty in a pinch. If someone wants to break into your house, they will. This castle will at least make their arrival very noisy. I can hear from the other side of the house when my baby tries to leave or when my spouse forgets to pick the lock. This solved a huge problem for me. We've had break-ins from our backyard and attempts to break into the house, but the back door opens outward, not inward. We didn't know what secondary security to use in case the lock was picked. This chain was the right length and very strong. Nobody gets like that.
