Get it while you can

This is the only working dock and I've tried them all - Targus, Kensington, Plugable, HP, CalDigit and others. everyone has problems! This has only given me two problems with my fleet of laptops so far, which are very minor compared to other docking stations: the monitors wouldn't turn on the first time on SP7 after a cold boot, and suddenly the USB hub stopped working when it was connected to my ThinkPad, which was resolved by disconnecting and reconnecting the dock. The main problem with…

Pros
  • Power Supply: AC 130W AC 120/230V (50/60Hz) power adapter. Docking Interface: USB-C

Broken noisy fan; Dell doesn't offer any solutions

I bought this product to use with my Dell laptop for home use. I've found it connects easily to two Dell external displays I bought and also to my laptop. However, after using the product for about five months, I started having problems with the fan. While the device is cool, well-ventilated, and away from other objects, the fan turns on intermittently, and at the Dash's top speed, it's quite loud and annoying -- and runs for a while. This happens dozens of times throughout the day which is…

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Good but not great

Requires BIOS setting change to work

First test of WD 19 Dock with XPS 13 9380. Since the last BIOS update 9380 I've only had problems with the dock. Problems include an intermittent connection to the monitor, malfunctioning with a simple USB switching hub, and repeated computer shutdowns that require a forced restart. I followed all the instructions when connecting this new dock and encountered the same issues. Then I came across this article: Dell USB-C and Thunderbolt Docks (WD15, TB16, TB18DC, WD19, WD19TB, WD19DC, D6000)…

Pros
  • So far so good
Cons
  • Low maintainability

This cannot be connected to multiple displays, especially 4k displays.

I swear Thunderbolt 3 is a scam. 2 displays at 4k 60hz my ass. HDMI doesn't work either. I used this docking station with a Dell 7480 laptop with a 6th gen i7, Intel HD 520, 16GB RAM and a Thunderbolt 3 port (not just USB-c) and this laptop was on the recommended laptops list by Dell. for this particular dock. I wanted to connect my two 4k 60Hz displays to this docking station via the display port and this docking station to the TB3 port on my Dell 7480 laptop. All other ports work, but the…

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
