Ahoy chips in power tool parts and accessories

I'm used to liking certain brands because I'm comfortable with popular brands. Unfortunately, Dewalt let him down badly this time. I'm cutting porcelain stoneware for a project and not only is there excessive chipping, but the blade flexes so much that it buckles at the end of the cut, affecting my ability to make a straight cut. It's the same with thin strokes and it cuts very slowly so I decided to try a hard blade from Home Depot and what a difference.

Cuts porcelain like butter

I agree with the other reviewer who initially said that this blade has a bit of chipping on the edges (small but there are). A little sanding with a diamond block and the edges are perfect. The more I used the blade, the cleaner the cuts became. I know this is a new blade and will cut anything easily, but I replaced the Dewalt blade after making 7-8 tile cuts so I was confident this new version would be just as good. I cut a 24" x 24" tile and the long cuts were straight without the blade…

Good quality, reasonable price.

Everyone loves to save money from time to time and I've tried every no-name tile knife. We cut ceramic tile, hard-paste porcelain tile, granite tile and even solid stone. I have to admit that the DeWalt XP is worth the extra price - it's many times better than cheap woods. It cuts granite like butter, and there's enough diamond on the blade to make many, many cuts. No chips, no. problems. However, as other reviewers have pointed out, the blade is very thin and flexible. Because of this it cuts…

This blade may have gotten bad reviews from those who are unaware that the blade needs to be conditioned by cutting cement blocks or other hard materials multiple times. He pulls out the diamonds to make the blade better. The first cut when it was new was on large china and the edge of the cut tile was a bit rough. This is bad for rectified tiles as the cuts can be down the middle of the wall, while ceramic tile cuts run along the entire wall under the molding. I took the blade and cut through…

Good, reliable and relatively durable knife

When I switched from XP to XP4 blades I found longer lasting, smoother cuts and no blade chipping on porcelain stoneware. From time to time I reshape the blade to preserve the quality of the diamond (using Raimondi Diamond Blade Resin). It's easy to recommend a regular production cut when that's less critical. I seem to be refining this a little just because for small tile cuts that require precision (no tiles in the field) the blade gives a bit and changes the bevel spacing. For example, in a…

Excellent durability and value

Excellent quality blades. I used these blades for a porcelain stoneware project and they work great. But I mainly used these blades for cutting natural agate, which is part of my passion for making agate marble. I was amazed at the life of the blade when cutting pound and pound freehand agate with the MK Diamond tile cutter. I have no hesitation in recommending these blades as they perform as well as the best grinding wheels for cutting hard rock. Like all blades of this type, it needs to be…

Blades not compatible. Can be great or useless

I had some bugs on the XP4 blade, I've used it quite a bit and I've been very satisfied. So I ordered a new one for a new project. I made two cuts on porcelain stoneware and it chipped the tile badly. A hand grinder with a conventional diamond blade cuts better. The tile in the photo on the left is cut with a new XP4 drive and on the right with an old drive. Zoom in and see the difference. Very disappointed with the inconsistency. The problem, I think, was in those "curly" slots (unfortunately…

Great blade with minimal chipping

I have used this 10" DEWALT blade on over 700 sq. ft. From time to time I use a solid rock to extract the diamonds and clean the blade up a bit I've had great results so far with this blade compared to the one that came with my wet saw Durability has been excellent so far with 1,300 square feet of tile remaining to be cut I've made a few cuts on some of the porcelain samples, I've had and the quality of the cuts was even better than the ceramic tiles I've cut. Cutting other materials such as…
