This kit was fitted to my car with difficulty

This kit was fitted to my car with difficulty. It was a nightmare to navigate as my fuel tank runs very close to the base of my bed. There are many ways it could have been designed better to make installation easier, although it claims to have been made for my truck. It works, but I'm not convinced. I even tried to push it out as far as possible, inevitably tilting it slightly. I had to cut about 3/4" from the outer edge of the T-tube because the part coming from the neck was metal and it…

Two parts missing for fuel tanks

I just installed this on my 2017 F250 short bed 4x4 truck. With this kit, a small clamp and a large clamp will not be enough for you. So before you start the project, go to an auto parts store and buy these two parts (just grab one of each from this kit to match). Ford normally places the clamp from the filler neck to the filler hose in a position that you cannot reach and loosen. So the easiest way is to use a dremil, cut off the factory collar and use a new one. So you can put the new fitting

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • No instructions

The gravity feed fitting does not work as advertised.

The main problem is that after initial installation with the fitting in the correct position it does not prevent fuel from entering the filled tank. So now I have to turn off the valve so that the fuel doesn't fall to the ground. The second issue was that the fitting itself had sharp burrs from the initial machining that I had to sand down. Problem 3 is that the ball valve that came with the kit is the cheapest ball valve you will find as it is a stamped valve which I did not trust enough to…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Requires socket

Easy to install - 2016 F350

Bought this for my RDS fuel tank combination tool - 60 gallon model #72743 to install on my 2016 Ford F350. I have a truck to tow my 41 foot fifth wheel. When towing a 16kg trailer, fuel economy drops to around 8 or 9mpg, hence the addition of an auxiliary tank. Enough talking, let's get to the kit. Installation was easy, simple and straightforward. The tank took much longer to find places to drill holes. The set was quick and easy. My Ford has a metal fuel line from the filler cap that turns…

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Almost OK

Works but too expensive for what is included.

Seems too expensive for a branded product that is not sold separately. The ball float tee is the only part of the kit that I can't buy at an auto parts/hardware store. The check valve is TOO BIG so was useless and the fuel line/hose clamps are of acceptable quality but not that I don't already have them. When I think about it, I have yet to see it with my own eyes. Auxiliary tank with a port on the bottom large enough to use the included non-return valve. I only have 1/4", the same size used…
