Installed on my mini trailer. Very well done. It supports my 33-inch (60-pound) off-road tire with no problem. This is partly due to the slight inclination of the mounting surface of the holder wheel (see illustration). It distributes the weight of the wheel between the holder and the wheel studs. 2017 Ram Promaster 2500 Full Size Replacement Tire. 225/75R16. The spare wheel was missing the square tube bracket and mounting plate. The metal was sprayed with a vise, leaving half of the inside of the square tube unprotected from corrosion. I was very impressed with this tire holder. Although it seems very durable, it has had quite a few off-road rides. I made a modification so it folds up so I can open the tailgate. Works very well. Even with the folding modification, the dimensions are still the same as the stock model and perfectly match my XJ in spacing and height. I use a 33 inch tire and it holds it securely. This is a great alternative to the more expensive swiveling tire holders.

Product was damaged on first order. I got my money back and had to order again. Luckily I got it before the 2000 mile trip. I enlarged the tires on our '07 Pilot to 245/70/16 and the full size spare wheel didn't fit in the temporary spare. So this was my decision. I installed this on a 2010 Nissan Frontier. The drawbar was a few inches shorter than my hitch, so I used a 7 inch hitch extension. Some play/wiggle is normal for anything that mounts to a hitch, so I used some anti-rattle clips and class 8 5/8 bolts with locknuts instead of hitch pins and it's secure, with no play or Wiggle. Solid, well made and well thought out quality product. I used this tire holder on my recent trip to Alaska. Alkan and Canada roads had sections that were in very poor condition. Many frosty chasms and potholes. Get out of the truck. The conditions made it very difficult for this tire carrier. I was towing a dual tire on a dolly that probably weighed about 100 pounds.
