🧵 Everyone's Silk PLA Filament Bundle Review

I can print other brands of PLA with my Maker Select Plus printer with no problems, but I can only print a very small portion with no problems. I watched videos on Youtube and used their printing temperature. I must have gotten a bad batch. I tried copper paint and gold paint with similar results as shown in the photos. The color and sheen change of silk is very cool. Printed on anet A8 at 195-205 °C [nozzle] / 70 °C first coat and 50 °C normal temperature [bed] first coat 0.16 mm [at 103% flow], remainder 0.08 mm [at 100% flow] [ mm/s] 40 speeds, 40 fill, 35 inner wall, 30 outer wall, 20 first layer, 125 stroke (80+ not recommended for standard machine). 2 walls and 10% filling (mesh). The set contains three colors. copper is beautiful. I had some stretching issues that negatively impacted surface quality, but for the most part the print was pretty good. I messed up a print (my own fault) and the result really did look like a bunch of copper wire. The gold is just bright yellow, it doesn't really look like gold. The rainbow has very disappointing colors. Yellow looks beige, and lilac is closer to burgundy. The blue and green look great, but overall it was very difficult to…
