Initial experiences were disappointing to say the least. It takes time to master and understand this thread. First of all, you need to understand that this thread needs to be printed really HOT. You need to rise to at least 245 degrees for it to flow and stick to the previous layers. Heat is needed not only to melt the thread, but also to melt the previous layer again. The filament itself is not as sticky as PLA when melted. So if the previous layer doesn't melt during layering, it won't stick.

Pros
  • Filament diameter 1.75mm (dimensional accuracy +/- 0.05mm)
Cons
  • Only available in black

PETG is a great material!

PETG is a Great Material! looks really good with it, but i'm figuring out a few things first. everything else turned out to be. I am using Robo3D R1+ with E3Dv6 hotend. * Yes, it prints better with a heated bed and MUCH better than ABS in my opinion. I like 70°C for a bed* YES, the warping is MUCH less than ABS and even PLA (in my opinion)* Yes, it will stretch a little tighter until you reach the right temperature.* Yes, it's stronger than PLA. What have I learned. It seems that printing (for…

Replaces PLA and ABS in one fell swoop.

My first PETG filament. It was difficult at the beginning, but now I will not return. If you're looking at PETG, you probably know the path to take. Color glossy black in normal use. If you can achieve 100% fan coverage and drop the temperature by about 5C, you can achieve a matte finish. This thread will still stretch like other PETG heads and some say even more, but you'll need to tweak the machine to get the finish you want. PETG shrinks about 0.4%, so you don't have to worry as much about…
