A few unglazed spots with orange stains

There were some unglazed spots with orange stains on the tank, lid and weights, I can only assume this is some kind of rust? In any case, it should not be used because bacteria can multiply and get stuck in porous raw pottery, and bad bacteria can multiply and pollute any fermentation, causing someone to get sick. I will have to return it which is terribly disappointing but safety first.

Pros
  • Acceptable
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Nice but back.

Nice pot but I returned it. It was too difficult to gain weight after fermentation. In order to fit into the pot, they must be inserted at an angle and slide under the edge of the hole (see photo). Some maneuvers are required to remove them. If the hole were bigger, maybe that would solve the problem. And maybe I'm just unfamiliar with the style since I'm used to using a kimchi pot.

Pros
  • Excellent design
Cons
  • Requires a socket

Clean design, looks great in my kitchen!

Finally! MODERN Shard. My husband is into enzymatic shit, I honestly don't know much about it. LAUGH OUT LOUD! BUT as the wife who runs the kitchen, I'm thrilled that he finally found a pot that wasn't an eyesore. It has clean lines and is sleek, not cluttered at all. The hubs seem very happy with their quality and happy I can't fault it anymore and roll my eyes with my hobby! Stunning design.

Pros
  • Quality assembly
Cons
  • No automatic

Great and true to size

Holds a head of cabbage well. Since I make small batches, this is perfect for me. I use a can funnel for filling. I look forward to reviews that comment on cleaning and filling difficulties. Having used various pots (from 20 gallon to this small) for cabbage and pickles over the years I find them perfect, beautiful and practical. Certainly better than my old heavy shards for everyday use and practicality. Yes, I have two and am thinking of getting a few more to expand my smaller batch recipes…

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Quick guide

The tank is not glazed.

The tank is NOT glazed. It's as if the person was lazy and just put the lid on the tank and glazed it like it was just one piece. For this reason, the part of the lid that is in the tank is not glazed either! It just seems like it absorbs all kinds of stuff. Also, the icing on parts of the weights was somehow missing. I like its size, just need to see if I can go somewhere and glaze the missing piece or it's already too late. I hate that I bought 3 of these so that's the case.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Unsafe

Nice and compact just don't know how practical it is

This is a beautifully crafted item. I found the frosting to be consistent and have a quality feel to it, but there are a few issues with use. The hole is quite small and my small female hand can barely fit in it. The weights are easy to insert now, but I don't know how later when I'm trying to get at fermented foods. The water gully on top means the underside - the top interior - has a groove where food can easily fall, making cleaning difficult. Maybe I could use that for something like water…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Garden tools

People have been fermenting sauerkraut for centuries and I love cabbage so I have decided to try it. It's a little less than I expected even though it's 2 litres/half gallons. It is impossible to store a full large head of chopped cabbage. Ceramic is a little flimsy and less durable than we'd like. I didn't like that the square hole barely allows me to put my hand through and my hands aren't huge. (last picture). The seller does not enclose any instructions for use or care. There are many web…

Pros
  • High Score for Grip and Durability by Testers
Cons
  • Not as Thick as Other Alternatives
