Description of πŸ”§ Fulton Precision Miter Gauge: Standard Slot (3/4” x 3/8”) Steel Bar, Adjustable Spring Loaded Plungers, Removable Retaining Disc

If you own a table saw and you need to make a crosscut at any angle then you know how valuable a miter gauge can be. You may also know that the miter gauge that came with your saw is not terribly accurate or durable. Not to mention that the fit in the miter slot may not be all that great as well. The Fulton Miter Gauge is a high quality, well thought out and economical solution to your table saw cross cutting needs. The .200” thick, adjustable, solid aluminum head is machined with 13 positive stop holes. 1 hole is at 90 degrees while the 6 holes on both sides are at 22.5, 30, 45, 60, 67.5 and 90 degrees. The positive stops are perfect for many woodworking projects as they are the angles that are typically used. To adjust the head you simply loosen the post knob handle, pull the spring loaded indexing pin outward, rotate the head to the desired position, release the pin and lock into place by tightening the post knob handle. The aluminum head has two 1⁄4” x 1⁄2” slots milled into it for mounting a miter fence if so desired. The slots are approximately 1-1/8” from the base of the miter gauge head. The head is mounted to a solid steel miter bar that measure 18” in length and is .354” thick by .730” wide. Standard miter slots are 3/4” x 3/8” with a 1/8” β€œT” slot (slight variances from brand to brand) running the length on the bottom of the slot. The steel miter bar is equipped with a metal, removable retaining disc that measures 7/8” in diameter and is just shy of 1/8” to fit into to the β€œT” slot to prevent accidental lifting when feeding your stock through. The steel miter bar is equipped with a metal, removable retaining disc that measures 7/8” in diameter and is just shy of 1/8” to fit into to the β€œT” slot to prevent accidental lifting when feeding your stock through. If your saw does not have a β€œT” slot, you can remove the disc. The steel miter bar is also equipped with spring loaded, adjustable plungers on the side of the bar. The plungers can be adjusted with the provide hex key wrench in or out to provide you with the ideal fit.

Great addition to the accessory

When you open and hold this angle stop you know you are dealing with a quality piece of equipment. Calibrated it per the instructions, adjusted it to fit the corner slot on the table and found it scratched the table surface as the surface of the underside of the sensor was rough. I put some tape on the underside of the corner stop and all is good. This was the only problem the manufacturer had to solve in order to get a solid 5 star product.

Well made -- but -- saw blades, parts and accessories

First things first, what I like about it: It's well made and fits right out of the box. Now, what I didn't like: Good thing it was delivered exactly like that because there's no clue how to set it up. Secondly, although it is written that the locking ring is removable, I could not; The screw was so tight I couldn't move it. As a result, the screw had to be drilled out. I'm not at all sure what this ring was for as it didn't exactly match the standard 3/4 x 3/8" slot on my saw. Couldn't move the

Face outside the beveled square

I don't usually leave reviews, but in this situation I felt it necessary. I bought two of these corner stops for a specific project and wanted them to be square. They arrived and only needed minor adjustments to bring the sensor face in line with the blade. After a little tweaking, I pulled her over to the sled I was assembling. When I put them on, the back of the slide kept sagging. It took me a while to figure this out, but the face of a corner stop is very different from a corner beam. The…

Locking disc cannot be removed (without additional measures)

The Phillips screw that holds the locking disc was so tight and the material of the screw is so brittle that the head snapped the first time you tried to loosen, detached . My corner slot doesn't fit the lock washer, as I can't remove the lock washer now this tool is useless to me and going back to Revain. UPDATE: I returned the original item very quickly and received another one. I saw another reviewer write that he had to drill out the lock washer it was so tight. This time, without risking…

An almost perfect miter sensor. Very basic but with useful extra features

Over the years I've used a number of different angle fences and worn table saws. Included. I've always pondered my idea of an ideal, well-designed sensor that's both accurate and simple. This sensor reaches all brands. Easy to read scale. Positive stops for normal cuts are absolutely precise. Roller bearings for adjusting track error are a great idea that I never thought of. This adjustable bearing feature is really useful, especially on "on site" construction bench saws, which aren't always as

Almost perfect design but could use improvement

If you are wondering what the difference is between this Fulton goniometer and the Big Horn 14600 - they are identical but I believe the Fulton one had original design (maybe it's $5 cheaper?). Also, subjectively, the Fulton head has a smoother and nicer finish, so that's it. Speaking of the underside, you need to wax it well or it will *leave* marks on the saw table, especially if it's aluminum (I'm less concerned with cast iron, steel, or coated tables). I wish there was a plastic strip…

"Accuracy "? That's exactly wrong!

I was really looking forward to it. Lots of good reviews. But I always look for reviews of "precision nuts" because they tell me if it's going to be a good product or if it should go in the bin. A "precision nut" (or madman who wants to make really precise cuts on a table saw) was unfortunately present for me in this case. The gusset guard, perhaps as important if not more important than the gusset bar, is NOT SQUARE! I don't mean the deviation of 0.001. What I mean is that your cuts aren't…
