No signs of wear after 500 miles of off-roading

Had to wait until I had the required mileage before commenting on these pedals. Now I can report that they exceeded my expectations. The oscillating clamp function works well and allows for easy insertion of the spikes. I actually use my 20 year old boots and they work great. Set the tension low so I can jump out of the clip if I get in trouble. The usable insole area combined with the rocker clip makes using non-SPD shoes an easy choice. However, I recommend using Grip Pins.

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Requires socket

Hope the replacement is better

Bought these to use on my trail bike. Nice pedals that fit like any other pedal. The clip in mechanism is really good and they work great. However, I took them for a test ride and the right (guide) pedal fell off the grip in less than 5 miles of easy riding. As you can see in the photo, the pedal itself somehow moves away from the spindle. I have contacted Funn regarding this and am exchanging them to try again. I hope this is an isolated case with these pedals, otherwise they are really good.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

The pedal itself came loose (see photo)

I have only ridden these pedals a handful of times as of June 2021, doing less than 30 miles on fire roads in the mountains. Unfortunately a few weeks ago at the beginning of the trip the right pedal got stuck - ie it wouldn't move at all when I put my shoes on. Upon inspection, I found that the right pedal's internal threads were loose, resulting in pedal binding and the impossibility of riding. The photo above shows the right pedal not working (bottom) versus the left pedal still working…

Like a Magnet - Parts & Components

I use mountain bike shoes, not cross country shoes, so the shoes are large and flat and the fasteners are securely embedded in the shoes. But the shoes are great, now I understand the problem was in my old SPD pedals. The hardest part was finding the clips to snap them into place. Also, the original pedals were single-sided (I won't do that again). It would have taken me too long to find the clips and my buddies were way ahead of the trail already. I was looking for something lighter to snap…

EASY to attach cleats

I've been cycling for decades and these are the easiest to attach cleats I've ever used. I used toe clips and straps, then look cleats, time cleats, then SPD Shimano. I've found that SPD pedals can be a real headache when trying to fit them onto a city bike where you're constantly getting on and off while going from one set of lights to the next. There's nothing more annoying than trying to get out of a dead end at an intersection and walk across that intersection while your foot fumbles to get

Great all round pedals

I have two sets of these pedals. They replaced the SPD mountain pedals on my Hightower and my wife's Tallboy. They can get stuck much easier than the Shimano pedals they replaced. The platform offers excellent support and works great when you're not connected. It's great to have a solid platform in risky situations where you're trying to snap back in thanks to the spring-loaded seesaw mechanism. Fabulous! The release is great, very regulated and there have been no early releases. My shoes are a

Awesome SPD Big Platform Pedal

I've been driving an SPD for decades. On a mountain bike, I like to set them tight enough that I can't jump out, and not tighter so I can get in and out without thinking. Because of this, the foot moves a lot when buckled up and I need to feel a solid platform to ride with confidence. If my foot gets in and out of the pedal frequently and may or may not click, it needs to be big enough for me to find it every time. After all, they have to be tough. I've only had the Ripper a few weeks but have…
