I had to work hard to keep it on the back of the GPS but it wobbled at the slightest touch. If it stayed, I felt like I would break the device trying to put it on the friction mount ball. Received today, returned tomorrow.

Too bad Garmin doesn't offer this as a separate part anymore. This part doesn't quite fit. It is extremely difficult to place it on the ball because it is too small. I had to use oil to tighten it and I had to use so much force that the metal ring came halfway out. After all this, the GPS continues, but "locks" does not.

Returned due to quality. The spring will try to pop out when installed on the GPS ball mount. The tab that tucks into the top of the GPS is too thick and won't fit into the GPS easily. Luckily I ordered a genuine Garmin part at the same time so I still have the part that works but it's a bug. I see how to use $3 and match it up and end up breaking the $400 gps no thanks.

This mount is identical in quality and function to the Garmin OEM mount except for one very important feature. All four mounts that I have purchased fit the suction cup ball tighter than the original mounts. After you set the position, it will not move due to vibration. This is important to me as I sometimes use my Garmin Nuvi on my motorcycle. I used to have to adjust my position every 20 miles or so, but not more often.

Looking at this pathetic replica of an original Garmin part, I can't help but wonder if there's a place Chinese manufacturers of cheap generic parts go to order things when they REALLY want them cheap . The part does not mate well with the original Garmin hook it was made for. It looks like it will fall apart once you manage to finally pull it out. It's junk and I'm sending it back from where it came from.

Broken old part. It didn't break and works as intended. It's a really intense fight and I had to play around with it a bit to make it work. I wore it once several times now it works like the original. The best part is that it comes with two pieces in case I break another one (I make a living with a semi-trailer so the mount gets a lot of beatings). The only thing missing is the Garmin logo on the back. 4 stars! It would be 5 if the part clicked into place immediately.

We love our Garmin RV770. until we were driving cross country through Houston on I-10 and the screen fell off the ball mount. The Garmin mount didn't hold the display and fell off easily when worn. Although this is not a genuine Garmin part, it is worth the money. This works great if you're willing to do a little filing or sanding. The thing is. It is not polished or polished like a Garmin original. It will have some ruff due to the molding or casting process. I was able to fit these mounts to the back of my Nuvi GPS with no problems. Attaching to the mounts was a big problem. I have both an original Garmin friction mount and a Garmin suction cup mount that I bought in 2010. These mounts are too small to fit over the mounts handle. I even used some lube but I was never able to attach the mounts to any of the mounts. Based on what I read in other reviews, I removed the metal rings from the mounting holes (not an easy task).
