Ibobber suits me!

Having now owned an Ibobber for about a year and used it dozens of times, here are my thoughts. It does the job of depth and marks some fish. If the water is very choppy it won't stay connected, but that's to be expected with cordless fishing. It's nice to have the backlight and the range is good for shore fishing. I've used it on my pontoon and it helps a lot when I'm not too shallow. I don't like Apple, it took me a while to update the firmware but I just had to try a few times. When the…

Pros
  • Marking GPS points with interactive map
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Very useful for fish finders and echo sounders

I just received mine and will be using it this weekend. Although I really like it, it's compact and easy to use anywhere. I will provide an update as soon as I have some time for it. Update: I used it almost all day today and it works great. Despite the fact that the fish did not bite, she caught a lot of them of different sizes. The only thing I don't understand is that the app and book say it catches fish over and under 15 inches with orange marks for under 15 inches and green marks for over…

More like ifail than ibobber

Watched several YouTube videos recommending this ibobber based on price compared to other more expensive products. Out of the box I charged it for a good hour then put it in a small well when I plugged it into my phone and it read the sheet below like it was two fish. Then I took it to a small lake and cast the float out to a maximum of 50-60 feet. After mixed results and reporting "poor sonar signal" and using it for a maximum of 30 minutes, the phone lost connection. back to the same lake to…

Pros
  • App features for logging trips and locations, weather and lunar calendar available without iBobber hardware
Cons
  • Power socket required

Damn right most of the time.

I've wanted one for a very long time, since my husband and I only fish from the shore (fishermen?) I gritted my teeth and bought one - I was waiting for spring, so me can go out and test and broadcast it for a while. Setup was easy, as was charging. The application was not long in coming. We first tried Bob (as we called him) at a local park that has several streams running through it. I said the depth is 90% accurate. Knowing the waterway, I knew what were likely fish and what were random tree

Pros
  • Additional features for posting on social networks
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

2 years with ibobber

Two years ago I looked at every portable castable fish finder on the market before settling on this one. When choosing an Ibobber, price and equipment were important to me. It does what it says on the tin, accurately marking fish, depth and water temperature. Some of the other nice features are underwater mapping and fish alerts. I've used it for both bank cast and kayak trailing. I turn on the fish alarm while paddling and it alerts me to a fish I pass so I don't have to keep looking at it. I…

Pros
  • Accurate sonar readings down to 135ft
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

Very inaccurate in the ship's electronics

I like the idea of this mobile fish finder very much. This is a fantastic idea for shore fishing and kayaking/canoeing. I chose the Ibobber brand for its simplicity and price. I tried this item as soon as I received it and decided to return it for a number of reasons. One of the reasons for concern was how this thing connects to your line. There is a tiny metal sleeve with a hole the size of a large fishhook eye surrounded by a very small amount of plastic that attaches to the device. I was…

Pros
  • Travel log with date, time, location, water temperature, conditions, type of fishing, bait, number and type of fish caught
