I have done about 1000 scans so far and overall I like the scanner. The price is right, but there are a few trade-offs if you're critical of the details. First the cons - the 35mm image is not fully captured when scanned. You need to crop the image to some extent. I would estimate it at 10-15%. Sometimes it's difficult. I was very excited about this product and despite some questionable reviews I decided to take a chance. I lost. Like other reviewers, I had a problem putting some of the negatives in the tray. When I crop the sides they fit, but that leads to other problems - often the frame number is there, and cropping removes that number and I lose the order of my images. I've already scanned almost 700 slides and I'm going to watch them on my big screen TV after I've been up all night. When dust gets into the Imagelab FS5CO5 gizmo - and it definitely will - there seems to be no way to blow it out. You have the same stains on all your negatives. The negative and slide holders are difficult to open. For slides: The image size obtained (left and right edge) does not match what is displayed on the small LED screen. . it crops part of the edge of the image.
