This kayak stand is worth every penny! It's easy to assemble (15 minutes), compact, and firmly holds two 10-foot Pelican Mustang 100X kayaks (only 80 pounds). The length adjustment is a very nice feature and gives my wife and I the ability to upgrade to longer and even heavier kayaks using the same storage rack. It's also a great storage option for home renters since you don't need to install any hardware in the walls. Be sure to buy!

I was a little concerned because it arrived with damaged packaging but all the parts were present and in good condition! The instructions could have been better, so I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for assembly, at the same time I laid out all the parts and made sure I understood what's what, and off we went. The box arrived with huge holes in it which I thought was normal until I realized the person was carrying a sandwich bag to the Storing nuts and bolts used. Of course the bag was torn, we were missing 5 nuts, 4 bolts and a leg bolt. I was able to buy replacement parts from my store at home, but I still don't have a leg screw. Kayak carrier Delivered on time and easy to assemble. Everything was perfect until I loaded my second 9.5ft kayak onto the top shelf. At this point, the horizontal support bar is fully detached from the vertical post as shown. Instead of throwing away that expensive post, I was able to tie a horizontal support rod to a vertical post with about 4 zip ties. Currently self-supporting. I've also reinforced the other side with zips in case it breaks too. I have two more kayaks and need another rack.

I love this shelf. I have two kayaks. One is small, designed for children or adults < 150#. Another full size. I was worried the stand wouldn't hold both as one is a lot longer than the other but it is! First off, this stand is very well made, very reliable, easy to assemble and doesn't require a lot of extra weight. It's really good in every way except one, and that turns out to be a HUGE design flaw. At maximum separation, the bottom of the two sets of "chutes" are vertically 31 inches apart. I did a lot of research before buying. There were a lot more expensive ones out there, but I just needed something solid and not flashy. This fits the bill. There are almost no assembly instructions, but it's easy to find out. You may have extra screws and such when you're done, but don't worry, you did everything right.
