The device looks well assembled. When connected to a 120 VAC input, the 220 VAC output will measure 250 VAC with no load. Under load it only drops to 245 VAC. That's not a very good attitude.

Ideal for power converters. I need 220VAC to run some equipment and I wanted to be able to connect to 120VAC instead of having to connect a separate power line to the workstation. It also gives me the ability to use any 120V AC outlet. So far it works great. Very quiet. It's a bit big for travel though.

We have just returned to the US from Asia and our printer needed a converter. All the converters that the people of Asia had were made of very heavy metal. I was surprised when this one arrived. It's not that heavy and has an on/off switch. The ones we've used before were on the entire time they were plugged into an outlet. It's well made, durable but doesn't weigh a ton and has worked great for us.

When I moved to Phoenix from Amsterdam 25 years ago I took a high quality stereo with me and played music every now and then with a small converter which got hot after about an hour. As I don't listen to music very often I wasn't worried but recently my situation has changed and I like to play music most of the day. This converter stays cool no matter how long I play music. I'm happy.

So. I have one of those mahjong tables that automatically shuffles and stacks tiles. In my CHEAPEST attempt to save a few Schmekel, I imported one straight from China (save about 50% on shipping). Problem. In China the voltage is 220/240V. Plug this kid in, make sure we increase the voltage from 120 to 240 and BAM it started the mechanics in the table perfectly. I always want to play MJ and take your money =(.

Received yesterday. However, when initially switched on with no load, it tripped the circuit breaker in the basement. I turned off the switch, closed the switch, and then turned it back on. open the circuit breaker. And I could connect a device to it. For now it seems to be working fine with no noticeable noise or heat. However, I asked for a replacement for the original problem. Now I give three stars for the problem.
