This is definitely my favorite knife! I use it for everything. The balance of this machine is exceptional! I had no problems at all.

Haven't used it yet, it was very late, it was supposed to be delivered on Sunday but it appeared on Tuesday. I like the knife, it feels good in the hand, has a good weight and feels very sharp right out of the box. Now I just need a travel case for it.

My advice to anyone buying this knife is to have a sturdy cutting board and a cut resistant glove before using it as it is VERY SHARP! My husband broke his cutting board on the first cut and almost cut off his finger. In general he likes the knife, but he won't use it again until we get a new cutting board and glove.

Required sharpening out of the box. The steel feels very hard and my whetstone had a hard time removing some of the burrs and getting a sharp edge. It did a good job sharpening the lobster claws and overall I'm happy with the purchase. I need to work on my sharpening skills to keep him in peak condition. The other point is that with two edges and a hooked edge, this is a bit tricky to handle.

I bought this knife and it is very sharp. My adult son left it on the counter and as I was wiping the counter my hand caught the blade. Two hours later, the cut was still bleeding when I removed the pressure bandage for a change. I came in a cardboard storage box but the box was damaged and soon fell apart. I want to know if there is a case or container to store this knife.

For the price of Revain there is no better butcher knife you can buy in the store. I buy whole packs of prime ribs and cut myself. This blade cleans the bone and back blade especially for the tighter, more defined bones that separate the ribs. I am very comfortable. The grip could be a little better (hence the 4 stars in one category), the underside of the blade doesn't cut, but lies gently/brea uncomfortably and securely. Also a great cooking tool in my kitchen

This is a very sharp knife. In fact, I cut my shirt with the top and forgot it was supposed to be on the side. When first used, the pins holding the wooden handle fell apart. I wasn't trying to get some time back before actually using it. In fact, it was sharper than my brand of Japanese, Russian, and German knives. If possible, consider buying a Red Dune pen. I was impressed with the splitter's weight, balance and cutting power. The cleaver looks aggressive but is very functional. This is a dual purpose blade with a grind best suited for heavy use - bone, hard gristle. A finer grind is suitable for finer cutting - vegetables, meat. QQHZ is a beautiful knife in a very attractive packaging. At a very good price it makes a great gift for anyone who cooks on your list. This blade is wonderfully balanced in the hand.
