I had to fold over and tighten the edges of the lid, but it's not too big. Not clear from the description but due to the attachment points on this cover the seat is not designed to remain still and cover your bench when you have an active dog. It looks like a great idea, but it's not. I have 2 for the minivan. Maybe this works well if your dog is small and doesn't jump or move at all. However, this is not our dog. Our dog slips when jumping on it. The bungee cord doesn't hold him to the seat, so when he jumps he slides over the seats, exposing the very seat it's supposed to protect.
