Bright light, love the strobe

This light is very bright and has a unique flash mode that dims and brightens several times and then flashes quickly. It's easy to remove for charging once you realize there's a screw locking it in place. That is unnecessary. Likes: bright, cool strobe mode, compact. Dislikes: The charging port cover is difficult to open and will fall off and get lost if you're not careful. The battery life is as stated. Long enough for the average commute, but I've learned to charge every night for daily…

Phase out in two months but fixable. Still.

I have had an earlier model for 5 years or more. I bought an Urban 1000 in 9/2020 for a new battery and more brightness. In 11/2020 the white headlight was NOT working anymore. The button still works and the battery level indicator is on. But the white headlight burned out. I have emailed L&M for support/warranty/replacement. Will be updated on success. Otherwise, it's a $90 paperweight. I emailed Revain via support chat and they said to work with MFG first (because it's OVER 30 days Amazon…

As long as I like it cycling

I've had this light on 150 miles of night riding and so far I like it. It takes a long time to charge, but there were no problems with the battery. My longest ride with it to date was 2 1/2 hours and it stayed at maximum brightness the whole time without draining the battery. The light beam is good and illuminates the road or path well. With one exception, which is that it throws a lot of light upwards, so be sure to keep it pointed down when approaching oncoming vehicles to avoid dazzling…

Very bright, excellent strobe function

Fantastic light. The strobe feature is very aggressive and therefore effective in making sure oncoming traffic can see you. I often see oncoming cars in front of me trying to make a left turn, stopping and waiting for me to pass even if they have enough time to turn. I'm convinced that the light scares them and they give me a lot of extra space and I'm fine with that! I almost never use the brightest setting; the lowest stable setting is almost always sufficient. Easily attaches to the…

Amazing Light: Cycling

The light is very bright at maximum. Bright enough to illuminate the darkest streets on a moonless night. A friend of mine has one too, and when she drove behind me, I always thought it was a motorbike or a car behind me. The downside of high settings is that the battery doesn't last long. This takes about 1 1/2 hours if the weather is warm. Expect less time on a cold day, as lithium-ion batteries lose about 12% of their performance when temperatures drop from 70 to 32 degrees. Don't expect it…

Loss of cold weather durability

Light and motion states that the Urban 1000 glows at full brightness for 90 minutes. This is true when cycling in 60 degrees Fahrenheit. But if you're driving at 40F or below, you're wasting time. I only get 70-75 minutes of light when driving below 40F. This is something they don't mention on their website. I spoke to Light and Motion and they confirmed that cold weather will REALLY decrease battery life. If you need more time, consider the Cateye Volt 1700 which is advertised as having a 2…

Pros
  • Sturdy finish
Cons
  • Doubtful

This is my third Light & Motion light. Like the form factor. Small, firmly fixed, holds the battery perfectly and effectively illuminates the road! I often switch it from the handlebars to the top of the helmet when going off-road. The fastening tape is very strong and durable. I love that it connects to the light and I don't have to worry about losing another accessory to get everything working. One piece, one mount. Ready! 4 modes is great. The brightness level of 1000 lumens is very bright…

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Hard to say
