Compresses Dual Brake Pistons Simultaneously. Squeeze the tool handle until the plunger contacts the inboard brake pad. Continue squeezing to compress both pistons. Makes dual piston pad replacement a simple job. Patent: 7,076,850.

Better Tool Than C-Clamps

I've used the C-Clamp method to compress pistons in disc brake calipers for decades. For some reason I couldn't get enough clearance on the penultimate brake job; very disappointing result. For $13 I decided to give it a try, I've always had good service from Lisle Tools. This device made my last brake job easy; it made the experience really enjoyable. Great time saver good quality

Used to operate the front brakes on a Lexus GX460. This truck uses fixed 4-piston calipers and this tool allows you to push them all back while the caliper is still in place. It's slow and the pistons are retracting - no need to crack the bleeder valve, just remove the master cylinder cap. The only thing to note is that before use you must position the expanders radially on the tool and tighten the large hex collar (nut) or the spacers will not be stiff enough to allow the pistons to slide…

Works perfectly and can be operated with one hand.

I bought this spreader to replace my existing long ratchet spreader. The ratchet didn't fit the smaller calipers and it didn't click/move until pressure was applied to it, so I had to hold it in place by turning the lever until the ratchet worked. This made the ratchet a two-hand operation. On my car you have to remove the caliper to remove the pads so this new tool allows you to hold the caliper with one hand and the tool with the other.
