🔧 Convenient Side Mount U-Bolt Spare Tire Carrier Bracket for 4 or 5 Lug Tires – Lonwin Review

I bought this great product to mount my spare tire on a boat trailer. It worked fine. I really wish it came with either lock washers or NyLock nuts; I used Loctite Blue on the threads instead and they seem to be holding.

I should have read the description better. I noticed that it's not the same size as a nut. Quite light in my opinion and doesn't hold the tire very well for a light small tire. Didn't fit my situation.

U-bolt frame end barely reaches 3 1/4 inches inside. will not fit a 3 1/2" wide frame tube, all other measurements seem correct. seems solid, difficult to move apart [bend] arrived a little under square, no big deal. happy with it.

I don't normally take my boat too far from home but now I need an inexpensive way to carry a spare tire that is easy to trailer mount, I have this locked with a chain and the supplied wheel chock, I don't intend to leave that installed freely after my trip

Inexpensive way to attach the spare wheel to the trailer frame. Like others, I added some washers from my garage as the nuts aren't nut size and don't have a tapered side. for its intended purpose and appears to be electroplated to resist corrosion.

I would give 5 stars if it included the washers I had to buy. The nuts look like protrusions, see attachment, but upon receipt they are just small nuts, see attachment. You need washers so you don't chew through the screw holes. You will need to change the second image from your page as it is not what you are sending. Thanks Keith

The product description is not a solution. The product came with standard nuts, NOT nuts. It's definitely a good idea to get some washers to prevent snagging the nuts or damaging the hole pattern on the rim. If you're using a small 8" wheel, plan on placing a small 2x4 block behind the bracket to shorten the remaining clearance to ensure you don't run out of threaded rod when tightening the trailer.

I used this U-bolt to mount a spare tire to a boat trailer. BUT I didn't want to lug around an extra wrench to loosen the bolts. So I ordered 2x "Dorman 41064 Spare Tire Hold-Down Kit" from Revain - rebored them down the center to 7/16 and welded on the 7/16-20 nuts that came with the U-bolt. [The tire mount comes with a different nut size.] NOW the U-bolt holds the spare tire so I can unscrew the nuts by hand.
