They're well-tailored and comfortable, but without a side tie, the waist will untie in the water and the bottoms will slide down. Both me and my grandson were so disappointed.

My 5.5 year old son has had issues with other swim trunks (wish mesh liners) giving him a rash or just plain discomfort and this was just what we needed. I will say they are big. We ordered a size 5T and my skinny son usually wears clothes from 5T to XS or S for boys and I have to pull them quite tight. But he can wear them without falling off and there is room to grow, so no complaints. It floats a ton and they hold up great. Recommend!
